Phase 2 Continues! Boomtown!! Well, I have been busy but I have been working on the park when I get a chance. Boomtown!! has grown, adding 3 rides! Golddigger is the zipper ride and adjacent to that is Rock Bottom, the wooden mine train coaster! Loggermill is the log flume. None of these rides have received building treatments but that will come in due time. Here are the ratings for Rock Bottom: The Great Western Journey The Great Western Journey is pretty much complete, all that is left are a few small things like a tree barrier and a small building to house the bathrooms. The Journey Continues, is the kiddie wheel I added. There will be a path south that leads to the new section of the park that has yet to be named as well as the bridge to connect the paths in Boomtown!! To-Be-Named This is a shot of the first ride in a new section that has yet to be named. It is called 'The Escape' but will probably be renamed when the themed area is announced. It already has some good ratings! You can also make out Dune Buggies. It is under The Sea Rat and some of the boardwalk. The kiddies love it! Here are 2 expanded shots, of the land to be developed. If anyone has suggestions I am very open to them. I plan on carrying out the "Lost Worlds-like" section in the grass and only until the main river. Across the river, below Boomtown!!, i have been contemplating a spooky area because there is a good amount of themed objects to work with. Anyways, enjoy! -

UPDATE! Well, I worked a little on a new section of the park. What started as this: Evolved into this: Boomtown!! As of right now, the Boomtown Junction!! Mini-Railway is the only way to reach this themed area of the park. Also here are "The Factory" rotovator ride and "The Flooded Mines" The coaster in the area is called "Sugar Pine Crossing". It is a terrain mine train coaster with some pretty decent ratings! I did not progress any on the Boardwalk area but I did create the barn to enclose the Bucking Bull Competition. I leave you with the lights off! -

Thanks for the comments guys! Especially the thoughts on where I should take the park! Honestly, I have been just doing very minute things with the park lately, like paths accessories and other things you really don't notice unless you look. So I have not made too much progress but did get a chance to take a few shots of what the future will hold for the park. MINI-UPDATE Here is a shot of Vista. It is a new Pier tower. Because of his installation, I lowered the height of the original Observation Tower and it is now called Info Tower. I think it fits better in the kids section when it is smaller anyways. I have yet to play around much with waterparks in RCT3 but I think I might add one south of Shoreside. Here is a little of where the TGWJ will be headed. I added Buffalo Round-Up inside Mustang Runners as well as enclosed some of the station. Bucking Bull Competition will be eventually enclosed with a large barn like structure. The section will most likely end when it reaches the water. I do plan on adding another ride though, possibly a boomerang. And a sneak peak of will be to come...Im thinking, Log Flume, Kid Coaster, Mine Train, River Rapids and some great flat rides! Enjoy! -

Great Idea! I have been tossing the idea around of starting a new park. I think I might mess around with some landscaping sooner or later but I have three words. Mountain Island Lake Its actually the name of a real lake around here but I figure I can make my own landscape to compliment the name. -

UPDATE! This weekend was busy so I didn't have much of a chance to add many new things, just kind of work on the small issues that might arise. Here is a closeup of the main Western building in 'The Great Western Journey' It houses 6 stalls!! (But no bathrooms.....I am going to add some near the other entrance to the area) These two shots are of the Kid Zone. This area does not have a name but it has a general theme that I am trying to phase out with the addition of the Kiddie Slide and Merry-Go-Round. You can also see some of the 'theming' work of Little Dipper as well as a view of the Observation Tower. I added a new coaster, making 4 total for the park. This is a Wooden Wild Mouse called The Sea Rat. It is in the 'Shoreside' section of the park and fits within the turnaround of The Strip. Take a look! Phase 1 is almost complete. Now, I am asking those of you who want to give me feedback...In what direction should phase 2 proceed? I have included this overall shot of the park for you to make suggestions. The continuation of Phase 1 is going to add a few more rides and scenery to all sections. There will be a pier with a ride at the end as well as another western ride! I leave you with this night shot. You can see some of the lighting isn't finished but I am getting there! -

I have some close-ups on some of the newer rides. The Texas Twister Little Dipper (you can also see Beach Bumpers, the new dodgems, right next to Thunder Bobs) The area around here will eventually be a junior zone with mainly kid rides. Here is a closer view of the main drag and the Observation Tower. Old stuff here, I might upgrade the buildings in the future. Here is a view of The Great Western Journey as it is right now. I just added 'Mustang Runner', a small themed steeplechase. It will have an enclosed station in the future. Here is how Shoreside stangs thus far, not too different but I did expand the building for the Chairswing. Also, You can walk on the beach but I have yet to decide if any true rides should be there. -
Might I suggest a small looping corkscrew coaster, I think it would match the size of the park quite well while not having a repetitive "small steel coaster" feel to the park. Its a little more beefy than a JetStar type and the peeps might go crazy for an inversion! Although I do think a JetStar would be appropriate, maybe a simple boomerang or small powered launched coaster too. It will give the park an advertising point for the future.

Jurassic ADVENTURES (RCT3)

Maybe you should add a section where themed around dinosaurs that break free in a city. That might break up some of the repetitiveness of the jurassic theme. Its good you aren't giving up, keep at it. -

Ahh, Carowinds. I live about 5 minutes from there so when I was younger I always seemed to have a season pass. Never did experience either those trains or White Lightnin' but my parents always talked about how "pointless of a ride" it was. I would have liked an experience on it but oh well (unless I go to S. Africa) I wouldn't mind seeing the Arrow Flume leave, it is just about as old as the park though and if they are going to remove that, then we better not get some hand-me-down. Our "newest" ride right now is actually The Runaway Reptar Junior Suspended. Its about time Carowinds gets something to call their own and if that involves removing the Flume then I am alright with that. Hell, I'm even alright with the removal of Hurler if that were to ever happen (I hope not but I would rather see that go than others in the park) I always liked the steamer and LOVED Smurf Island. Any pictures of that? PLEASE! -

A few pictures of the newer attractions: 'Shoreside' just had some new attractions installed. This is a water shot of The Jet Skis and the accompanying stalls and toilets. You can also see some of The Strip as well as the new Thunder Bobs! 'Shoreside' so far, sticking with the boardwalk theme. 'The Great Western Journey' has also been upgraded! I have added the 'Hey Dude! Show' along with Lasso Larry's Loop! (It has since been slightly relocated than what seen in the second image). I also added a central building to house a numerous amount of western-themed stalls. I need a better shot of The Texas Twister but you can kind of make out the scenery around it. Here is an overall shot of the park. In my next update, be sure to look for a longer boardwalk, more buildings and rides in 'Shoreside' and some new junior rides as well as a close up on the new junior coaster Little Dipper. -

>Monkey: Yes, I am sad to say that there is a turn in the lift hill. The trains are 5-cars long and make the turn just fine. It actually runs quite smooth, I think it is about 100ft high and drops in 50ft intervals. I have never recorded any on-ride footage but might try soon. >Steffen: I have the Platinum edition so I have all three. I might try doing that but after working on the theming of that area, the custom buildings actually match very nice, IMO. I will post that picture later this evening. Update! I got a lot accomplished on the park but I have yet to take pictures of the finished products, just some teasers. The Twister flat ride came out of storage and is currently being themed in the western area as "The Texas Twister". Also, look for a new junior coaster to please just about everyone! Other recently installed rides are the Thunder Bobs and Jet Skis! Don't forget those shiny new toilets! These new Boardwalk attractions are sure to attract peeps of all ages. Look for detailed shots of this in the near future, but I leave you with a dusk shot! Check Back Later! -

I've been working a little on the boardwalk-area scenery to give it a "beachy" feel. I still need to add more rides to get the overall feel of the atmosphere of a boardwalk. I will probably add classic carnival-style rides in that area. Below is also the ratings for "The Strip" and the general area so far. Also, I have not forgotten about the Western area. My original flat ride I had removed to make room for the t-shirt stalls has come out of storage! Details later. -

I think when I was designing the SLC, I imagined banking the first drop but I think there were issues with how I used the small, large and x-large dropping turns with banking. Thanks for the comments though, I have an obsession with compact coasters! Well, I was gone for the weekend but got a chance to work on the park a bit when I got back. I am veering away from the "Western" Area right now, and working towards The Boardwalk. There isn't much landscaping or buildings but I am working on those sometime today. Here is an overall view of the park. The new woody is called "The Strip" and will run the length of the boardwalk. I also increased the height of the Observation Tower. I figure I will need some kind of transportation system when it gets larger; any suggestions? -
