  1. I just signed up for both days of WCB. This will be my fifth straight year at West Coast Bash. I can't pass up ERT on X2. This will be my first West Coast Bash visit to Knott's Berry Farm.
  2. Club TPR just keeps getting better and better.
  3. I'm glad the dates were changed. It will be great to visit the parks after the new attractions are open.
  4. Disaster Transport will close on July 29. It was just announced at coastermania.
  5. I went to TechEd in Orlando in 2000, and IOA was really busy. We only got one ride on Hulk, because it was down after that. We skipped some rides, because the lines were long. Free food and free alcohol made for a very fun evening.
  6. I'll be at the park when it opens on Saturday. I always go on opening day. With great weather and $20 tickets, it might be more crowded this year.
  7. I'll be going to Six Flags Great America on opening weekend (May 5). A week later, I'll be at Cedar Point for their opening weekend. I usually go to opening day for both of those parks.
  8. I just received another alert, so the Virgin America sale is back on again. Chicago to LAX is back down to $219. America, United, and Continental all matched Virgin America last week. So far, I haven't seen any of them match Virgin America this week.
  9. I just booked my flight from Chicago for $219 total, which is a great rate. American Airlines and Virgin America both have great prices from Chicago right now. This sale seems to have started a few hours ago.
  10. The cost of Alone appears to be $40 for up to four people. I'm looking for three other people that are interested in doing it. I'd like to reserve a time as far in advance as possible.
  11. I would pick X2. Every second of X2 is fun. It's never boring.
  12. I can't wait to marathon Goliath. I'm really looking forward to another TPR Bash.
  13. Opening day at Great America turned out pretty good today. We did get a little rain, but it never lasted very long. I was able to ride every coaster today. Look what I found in the station at each coaster. New Sports Bottle Holders Here are a few pictures of the water park expansion. Wipeout - Double Funnel Raft Slide Wipeout & Dive Bomber Mansoon Lagoon Dive Bomber & Mega Wedgie
  14. I'll be at Great America on Saturday & Sunday as well. I wonder if the weather will keep the crowds away, despite the low cost.
  15. This was a great event. I had my best rides of the year on Viper. The big storm was just what we needed.
  16. I just registered for the Japan Combo trip. It will be my first TRP trip. It will also be my first trip to Japan. It's not even winter yet, and I'm already excited about next summer
  17. This was my second year at WCB, and it was fantastic. I wish my local park, Six Flags Great America, had an event like this. I rode X2 30 times, and I still had time to ride other coasters during ERT. ERT was scheduled to end at midnight, but X2 stayed open until 12:30AM. I'm already looking forward to West Coast Bash 2011.
  18. Kayak.com is good place to get deals, but you can usually get a better price at Priceline or Hotwire. Just be sure you understand how Priceline and Hotwire work. If you need two beds, or a room for more then two people, Priceline is not a good option. I've had good luck with hotels giving me what I needed, but it's not guaranteed. I won't use Priceline for flights, so Kayak has helped with that a few times.
  19. I already had my hotel booked, but decided to see if I could do better with Priceline. I've used it a few times in the past, but never for a Six Flags trip. I couldn't get a good rate at the Hyatt. My last bid was $75, and it was rejected. I'm staying until Thursday, so that could have made the difference. But I did get the Residence Inn by Marriott in Santa Clarita for $60. That's 50% off the best price I could find online. It's a three star hotel on Priceline, and it's pretty close to Six Flags Magic Mountain. The reviews on Priceline and Trip Advisor are pretty good. I booked that today, so you can still find a good deal for WCB.

Olympus Water & Theme Park (Dells) Pacific Park (Santa Monica, CA) Blackpool Pleasure Beach (England) Santa's Village (Dundee, IL) Seaworld Orlando Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (California) Six Flags Fiesta Texas Six Flags Great Adventure (NJ) Six Flags Great America (Gurnee, IL) Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Six Flags Magic Mountain Six Flags Over Georgia Six Flags Over Texas Six Flags St Louis Thorpe Park (England) Timber Falls Adventure Park (Dells) Universal Studios Florida Universal Studios Hollywood Universal Studios Islands of Adventure I expect to add the following in April / May: Europa Park (Germany) Holiday Park (Germany) Chessington Worlds of Adventure (England) Adventure Island (England) Lightwater Valley (England)
  21. The worst part is, it really didn't rain much today. I can see the park from my hotel, and there has been very little rain. If the park had actually opened, I might have had my best day every with X2. My local park, Six Flags Great America, would never have closed on a day like this. The sun even tried to come out for a little while.
  22. SFMM was selling tickets, until 10 minutes before opening. There were around 50 people lined up at the gates, waiting to get in. So they didn't make the decision until the last minute. That's the only reason I'm angry. I knew there would be some downtime due to rain. But I hoped I could get some rides when it wasn't raining. I don't think the decision was based on the weather. I think it was based on the empty parking lot. Based on the weather forecast, they had to know that would happen.
  23. I need to learn my lesson, and stop trying to ride X2. I called the park on Wednesday, and they said that weather wouldn't be a problem this weekend. I called again on Friday, and they said the park would be open. It's not even raining right now, and I'm right across the street from the park. They didn't close the park due to weather. They closed the park, because there was almost no one in line. They should have made this decision yesterday. Weather reports haven't really changed much in the last few days. The winds are going to pick up tomorrow, so I wouldn't be surprised if X2 is down due to high winds. I've come all the way from Chicago again, and it looks like it will be for nothing. I came out here on January 16, and X2 was down. They told me it would be back up the following weekend. I almost extened my trip, but I decided not to risk it. It was a good idea, because X2 was still down. I was here for WCB 2009, when high winds took X2 down for half the day. I guess I need to find a new favorite coaster.
  24. I just called the park for an update on X2, and they are still working on it. It clearly wasn't as easy as a simple replacement part. They said they will be working on it all day today and tomorrow, to try and get it running on Saturday.
