Photo TR: H(anno)Happy at TPR's Europe Trip
frederic replied to Hhappy's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hi there Hanno ! I really had fun joining the group with Nicolas for Parc Astérix and Disney. It was awesome to meet and talk with all the TPR members. We really appreciate helping the group for the Parc Astérix's ERTs and showing some hidden mickeys or Disneyland's small details. Thanks for posting a selection of the thousands of pictures you've taken during the trip ! They're just great ! --frederic -
Hi there ! Thanks for all your constructive comments on my Week-End AIRTIME 2006 video which takes place at Phantasialand. I do agree that it is too short and I would like to explain why we had to do so : we had lots of video problems during the trip so that we came back with not enough good footage for a "full lenght" video. So I've chosen a short music from Alan Parsons Project to edit kind of teaser rather than a "regular" coaster video. In the end, except a few more Black Mamba shots, I've really put every good shot we had. I'm sorry if I frustated some of you who wanted more coasters, Phantasialand and fun antics The contest have interesting and unusual videos. I so love Hoodie the Movie ! Moreover, I really appreciate this year all the comments and reviews on the forum, sharing points of views, ... Again a nice contest this year ! BTW Robb, the last entries seems to not have been announced yet on the TPR website index. --frederic

Thanks for watching ! --frederic -
Hi there, this is a 3:55 min video taken in Efteling during a 2 days trip organized by the french not-for-profit organization Parcs Passion. You'll see the beautiful landscape and flowers of the park, a few footage of dark rides and also on-ride/off-ride of the coasters such as Python, Bobbaan and Pegasus. This video doesn't contain sheeps but gooses walking with a music band It's a 25 Mo file with DivX image and MP3 sound --- Download the video --- I hope you'll enjoy the video. --frederic

Hi there, I got my DVD last week-end. This last issue of Coaster Expedition is excellent. The POV are better (the camera is sometimes fixed on the car of the coaster) and slow motion is well used in the editing. I also liked the references to Volume 2. Congratulations for this awsome work and thanks again. --frederic

Hi there ! Sorry if you're not able to read the file. It's a DivX 5 video file with MP3 sound. Be sure to have the right version of DivX (5.1.1 minimum). Try the last DivX player for instance, it' free. --frederic "hard to find an universal video file format" -
Video: Le Musée des Arts Forains
frederic replied to frederic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks for all your comments ! That's why the TPR forrum is made for This ride has 105 years old ! At that time bikes were pretty new, expansives and high techs so a carousel with bikes was a way for most of people to test it ! Great ! This is the official website of the place : http://www.pavillons-de-bercy.com/ Try the last free DivX player at http://www.divx.com/divx/player/ Or the free VLC Media Player under GNU General Public Licence at http://www.videolan.org/ Again thanks for all these positive feebacks and enjoy the video ! -Frédéric- -
Video: Le Musée des Arts Forains
frederic posted a topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hello everyone !!! This is a video taken in "Le Musée des Arts Forains". It's a funfair museum located in Paris that showcases old stalls and rides. This museum is not open to the public but only to groups on demand. One more particularity : you can touch what you want and test all the rides ! I used DivX Pro 5.1.1 as video codec and MP3 as audio codec. The file size is 14.1 Mo and the movie lasts 2:28 min. Enjoy the video !!! http://www.parcspassion.org/VIDEOS/DATA/PARCS_PASSION----MuseeDesArtsForains.avi Pictures gallery is also available on www.ParcsPassion.org -Frédéric- -

Lorie - "Week-End" A very happy and fun song with french lyrics and female singer Les Beadochons - "A Walibi J'Temmène" You can't miss this crazy song for a Walibi segment !!! The translation of the title is "I bring you to Walibi" It's a special cover of "I want to hold your hand" from the Beatles but with new, special and funny lyrics in french Robb and Elissa, just ask me if you would like these songs and don't find them --frederic -

frederic replied to frederic's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I hope you'll see the show working ! There are smoke, light effects, sounds, doors opening and closing at the base of the tower-temple... But most of the show wasn't working during my staying Hurakan Condor must look awsome at night Hurakan Condor is a 328 feet (100 metres) high tower Compared to the flooreless stand up free fall tower of Movie Park Germany, it's not painful at all (and more scary)... Trust me !! --frederic -
Hi there ! This is some pictures taken from my last trip to Spain You'll see Hurakan Condor in all its glory It's an Intamin giant drop tower which is 100 metres high this new ride located in the mexican land is really good and well themed Enjoy the pics ! --frederic The nice on-ride picture printed on a tee-shirt Another pic of the tower Yes, the drop is long and you've got plenty of time to scream ! Cars 3 and 4 have stand up floorless seats which tilt (15°) when you reach the top (car 5 have the same seats than 1 and 2 but tilt at the top too) Cars 1 and 2 have standart seats YES, there is a single rider queue line (but NO, there isn't a Universal Pass queue line) - Anyway the single rider line works well The top of the tower - Hurakan Condor is supposed to be a temple The base of the tower Hurakan Condor's entrance View from the China land (yes, this is the land of the B&M Dragon Khan) View from the room of my Salou's hotel

Sorry to have given you more work. "Week-End AIRTIME 2004" was the only one of the 3 entries to have been edited with Premiere 6.0. I used Premiere 6.5 for the 2 others. Anyway, that's not a big deal. We just look fater now For the moment, my favorites are Paul Ruiz De Miquel's Terra Mitica Video, Guy T Koepp's "It Came From The 4th Dimension" Video and Steve Lee & Karen Lawson's "Shut Up & Smile!" Video. I also like Nick Collins' "Bumps & Bruises" Video. It's a great idea to focus a video on painful rides ! This year the contest is really interesting. It looks like a laboratory to explore new ways to make theme parks and coasters videos. --frederic

Oui, tout à fait (Yes I do !) Yves told me it wasn't easy to hold the camera and shoot the tracks (we haven't got a wide angle for POV....). So only the best parts of the POV are in the segment. The 5 videos of this week are all differents and interesting (editing style, choice and using of the music, ...) Can't wait to see the 15 last entries ! Yves, Nicolas and I are very proud to see our video selected for the contest. But the aspect ratio of the video is strange. We didn't do a 16/9 video I guess a wrong pixel size has been chosen when converting from PAL to NTSC. You can check a DivX/MP3 version of the video with the right aspect ratio and less compression here (20,7 Mo) : http://www.parcspassion.org/VIDEOS/DATA/PARCS_PASSION----WeekEndAirtime2004.avi --frederic "in 2 weeks I'll be in Port Aventura !"

Hello ! This is some pictures taken during the Paris scale model show which feature a little FALLER funfair and a LEGO building inspired by Phantom Manor from Disneyland Resort Paris. Although this show isn't as big as german ones, it's the biggest of its kind in France. I hope your'll enjoy the pictures !!! --frederic Inspired by the DLP Phantom Manor, this LEGO building has a lot of motorized moving parts ! These motorized models work as real ones ! A little FALLER funfair YES, you could try a real military simulator to be launched from an aircraft carrier !!! An overview of the show Entrance of the show (look at the pet !)

Hello ride6 ! Are you talking about Week-End AIRTIME 2003, one of the last year's winners ? If so, I'm glad you love it. This second contest starts very well with very good and unusual videos. Congratulations to all the contestants For the moment, Paul Ruiz De Miquel's Terra Mitica Video Contest Entry, Guy T Koepp's "It Came From The 4th Dimension" Video Contest Entry and Alain Devester's Toverland Video Contest Entry are in my top 3. --frederic

Hello Robb, Elissa and all the TPR team for this second contest. I have a video which may be borderline so I prefer asking the question before submiting it. This video takes place in an indoor park called Planète Magique. Planète Magique only opened a few months between 1989 and 1991. The video has been taken last year, a few months before the complete destruction of the park. It was a guided tour of a park closed since more than 10 years ! All rides were unique prototypes and there weren't really a coaster apart from La Navette which was a strange mix between a launched coaster and a space shot. See these 2 pictures of the single track : Photo from www.ParcsPassion.org Photo from www.ParcsPassion.org For more informations about Planète Magique : PlaneteMagique.com (an excellent "false official" website) PlaneteMagique.Daboo.com (the souvenir website of the closed park's guide) There are less than 10 seconds of footage of La Navette (not working, you only see the track as on the pictures) in the video and I wonder if it fits the rules of the contest. I've have also another question : I will submit my entries on a data CD or data DVD (I can't sent a DV tape as I can't get a camcorder with a DV OUT). I've seen that you accept both PAL and NTSC files. Have you got a preference between these 2 formats ? --frederic

Yes I do !!! See my post above... I have also played a lot on ATARI 2600 (Moon Patrol, Jungle Hunt, ...) --frederic
