  1. It ran SOO much faster overall today. The rain helped and the track is really braking in. Parts of the track that didn't move at all to this point are swaying a 1-2 feet. Its really fun to watch! With the one train operation the train would fly into the station for most of the day. The rain dried up and it ran a bit slower in the later hours but it still took the last few hills faster on average than they did all day yesterday. This coaster is strange, the our seat preferences seem to change daily. Suddenly the comfy seats in the middle have turned into rough rides. Front row is still the smoothest but the second row provides WAY more airtime and IMO is the best 'balanced' ride (comfy yet ejector air). The last row is still the best for the stand up in your seat first drop. There is no longer anything special about seat 5R, in fact, it seems worse than most now. Texcoaster and I finished out the day riding in the back to seats since they were single rider only (there was a mechanical problem with 11 and 12R). We managed to rack up our final 15 or so rides there and I am not even sore. The entire train, even when it was running slower at the end, seemed much smoother today. -GG
  2. That guy preaching on the amplified system standing on the milk crate was back?? Yep. He was there. There seemed to be a rather large foreign crowd there tonight. Oh my, is THAT was that was about? I know this is a free country and people died for that guys right, but geez. Let's grow as a people a bit now. -GG
  3. I guess this is why Landry's didn't notify the media and they were not out there on opening day. I can't believe how they like to make everything a controversy. I met about 10 residents out there when they were constructing and none of them had a problem. Granted they were not next door, it just seems odd that they wouldn't sell the house for 4x market value (which has increased by nth times due to the Boardwalk) and build a 'nice quiet house' somewhere nearby. It sounds like a personal grudge to me. They made this article sound like everyone in Kemah was mad. Alas, at least Texcoaster was able to balance the article out. I'm glad they found him at least. I can't stand the media and refused to give them my name -GG
  4. We got stuck on the brake run with Texcoaster and the reporter they had to unload us from there. There was a small problem with one of the wheels which was apparently quickly fixed but they went ahead and ran it with one train the rest of the night. It should be back to two trains tomorrow. The longest line was 45 minutes which stretched about 20 feet from the entrance. For the most part it was around 30-35 minutes after the re-opening with one train. Sunday should have been the busiest night of the weekend so lines shouldn't be as long tomorrow. While running two trains on this ride doesn't save a lot of time, it does cut down a few minutes on the line and may allow for 1-2 extra rides an hour when it is busy. I had a remarkable ride in seat 11L when a heavyset guy (bigger than me) sat alone in 12R it somehow made for some HUGE ejection on the big drop and the next two bumps. After 50 rides at this point it was unexpected and aside from the 'rain rides' was is my most favorite one yet! I love how this ride throws different things at you when you least expect it. It truly gets better the more you ride it. I'm currently on ride #62. -GG

  6. Off to the park I go! Its raining here so hope I get some rain rides!!! -GG
  7. Thats the thing, after riding it so many times, when something catches me off guard I am REALLY not ready for it. When that first rain ride in 5R caught me off guard I started the next ride really tensed and holding tight. I was in 12R on that ride and when we went to the same spot I tried to hold myself upright a bit and pulled my entire right side (I can feel the soreness now when I take a deep breath). Had I not done this I wouldn't have any pain right now aside from one little spot on my left calf that is sore to touch because of the lap bar hitting it side. Since Lone Star Coasterthon will be my first ACE event next week I am taking this in as 'endurance preparation'. I need to be prepared for the Giant... -GG
  8. Due to my sore right side from tensing up during the rain rides the night before I choose to ride in the left seat most of the night. When I finally decided to ride on the right it was in 10R, but I was in a conversation with another rider and didn't hear your warning about it. When I came off the first drop and got slammed to the left air right after landing into my seat, then got ejected again, I don't think my words were "OW OW OW", but instead something a bit less appropriate for families being around came out. It was mainly because of my sore right side and the fact that when I got slammed left so hard I used my right side muscles to keep me upright - the ones that were already sore. I gave up and just started bouncing off you the rest of the ride Yeah, I'm starting to think the best seats are rows 2-4 now, even in 3 and 4 I was getting more ejector air. I think 5L , 6L, 7L, 8L are the tamest.
  9. Slow? Huh? Those trains were flying. Hehe. No, not really Yeah, when it is wet you don't have chance to catch your breath Yeah, it really is a different ride then. The entire last section of the ride that kinda winds down a bit is intense. When the train arrived on the brake run it slide all the way up to were it starts to curve, around 5-6 seats further than normal, it was going so fast. I believed they have clocked it over 61 MPH in those circumstances! Everyone must catch it in the rain at some point.
  10. The reality is that if you plan to marathon this coaster its probably a good thing, especially if you do a lot of back car or right seat rides as it gives you time to recuperate. This ride may not be the roughest every but it can get pretty aggressive deepening on your seat. My opinion is that rows 5-7 are the tamest and if you sit on the left side it is the least jerky but you experience less airtime etc. I used to think the front train was the tamest but the right side of the first 2 cars can be rough. I'll only ride the back once every 5 rides or so at this point though TexCoaster coerced me into it a bit more than I would have liked. There are a few odd seats as posted before. Seat 5R and seat 10R seem to have some weird ejector air moments. It was really fun watching everyone ride for the first time and listening to so many talk about how long it has been since they have ridden a coaster. Several of the people we talked to went to the part just for the Coaster so it is bringing them customers that wouldn't have normally gone - a good thing! Who will be out there tomorrow?
  11. A lot of people out there today I didn't get to meet! I was the fut guy in the blue Bullet tee-shirt! We need to have some symbol or something to show when leaving the bay to identify everyone! Had a great time today. It sure like this is going to be a great coaster to get ERT almost anytime. At the peak of the lines tonight you had to wait no more than 15 minutes, usually less than 10! The place was pretty packed too. I seriously doubt there will ever be more than a 30 minute line (aside from mechanical problems etc) and after talking to some people who work there they pretty much agree it would have to take one of their busiest days ever to even do that. Tomorrow will be busiest of the 3 day weekend so we'll see what happens. For those of you who just rode today: The coaster was running pretty slow. They will hopefully oil the track in the morning. To give you some comparison, when the track is well oiled you get ejector air on EVERY hill, even the last coming into the station. When it rains and its oiled, oh my, it is insane, it barely slows down on the top of the big drops. The coaster completed the circuit 15 seconds faster in the rain Friday night! -GG
  12. Almost like they drew a normal size coaster on a piece of paper, crumpled up the paper and built that. Hahah! That is one of the best one sentence descriptions of this coaster I have heard! Awesome -GG
  13. Ah, didn't know you were out there! Texcoaster and I were out there all day, we are up to over 40 rides now. You may have seen us, we had on the Boardwalk Bullet shirts. -GG
  14. For the record, the re-ride policy I spoke about was slightly wrong. You can ride 3 times in a row only if your row is empty in the queues on slow days. If someone is in line you must get up and walk the queues again, you can not change seats even if there are other empty queues. This makes sense since there would be a battle of people trying to take the empty seats all the time. The ride operators may be able to use some discretion on REALLY slow days when most of the train is empty but I don't know for sure about that! -GG
  15. I sent you a PM. I didnt get a chance to meet you yesterday, somehow I missed ya. Jason said he ran into you however. -GG
  16. A bunch are out there today waiting for it to open. Im on my way. A lot of the people today plan on takings pics and video if the lines get long as expected. -GG
  17. He is speaking on the possibility that there is nobody in line and he has multiple tickets, not a wristband. -GG
  18. I sure hope so. I want Kemah to build more!!! BTW, SKCfan, there is no need to quote texcoasters entire review in your reply, edit your post to quote quote things that pertain to your response, its just good netiquette. -GG
  19. Well, my expectations are that I'll get some good ride time when everyone is at work and school on Tuesday-Thursday during the day hours. If they continue running it during day hours I don't expect the lines to be too long then. -GG
  20. Ok, so I didn't ride this one UNTIL it was raining. So the train was going even faster than when you rode it before it started raining. I had about 12 rides under my belt by this point so thought I knew what to expect with middle seats. I recall how ecstatic you were when you rode in that seat earlier but didn't think much of it since it was your 4th ride. I put my hands up in the air for the first drop and then hit the bottom of the turn. Suddenly I was jolted into you then back down and to the right, immediately I then go another bit of pretty violent ejector air. At this point I pulled my arms down grabbed the bar for a second, WTF, I think I shouted some obscenities. Where in Gods name did THAT come from? It took me totally by surprise. I don't remember much else other than I had to grab the bar again near the end cause I was pooped! I can't wait to get back in it however, this time I'll be a bit more prepared for it! -GG
  21. Ummmm... if its a single ticket then its a single ticket. No scamming more rides. Thats not what he meant, I think he meant if you bought 2 or 3 tickets, could you give them the next ticket and ride again without rewalking the entrance que. -GG
  22. Not sure. I'll have to ask. But if you are buying 3 rides you may as well buy a wristband for the cost of about 1 ride more. And if the lines are bad it won't be an issue anyway so really, if you go during dead times, get a band and ride all you want. If you buy 2-3 tickets walking around won't matter too much. If you are riding all day, it would get very tiring. I was surprised by how fun that little "Boardwalk Bouncer" was. I kept laughing like a little kid on it. They ran it while it was raining so we were able to reride it over and over. The other rides were shut down. -GG
  23. Yeah, I'd say right now about 3 minutes to get a train out. Thats still 480 people an hour and they are rated to do 800 an hour when they are up to speed. I know this Coaster is going to be popular but aside from holidays I don't see Kemah having too many people in line!
  24. How can they possibly keep track of a ton of different people and know who's ridden how many times? What if someone is waiting for your seat but others are empty? Can you go for them instead? Thanks for the info so far. Obviously if too many people abuse it they will eliminate it, so don't abuse it and call out others who are trying to. Self enforcement is the key here, although they do have enough ride operators to keep an eye on things and many of the riders have 1 ticket not a pass. Yes you can go get into another empty seat that nobody is waiting in line for but you must give up your seat to anyone who is waiting in line. -GG
