crispy replied to edboxer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well we would be going to Cliff's, but my wife had to go and get pregnant, and have the due date be may 10th, so we won't be going nowhere except maybe the hospital I told her if she has the baby on the 8th, thats all she gets, I'm taking her gift back -
Help with Bay Area Trip!!!
crispy replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The kids will enjoy the Boardwalk, and if you have time, the Santa Cruz warf, which is right there is pretty awesome, with the basking sealions underneath the warf, that you can feed, also the seafood is good. As for somewhere to stay thats safe, I would aviod the cities, hit Scotts Valley, between San Jose and Santa Cruz, on the Santa Cruz side, the first exit, with the denny's sign has a hotel, Best western I believe, and if you've got the $$$, the have a awesome Hilton on Mt. Hermon Rd. Anyway, scoots valley is total yuppie ville, and they have a WAY WAY to aggressive police force, what other town of 10,000 has a SWAT team, don't speed there, but it is a very safe place to stay -
Well thats totally wrong, what her parent did. I have no idea what should be done if you find out your child is sexually active at 14!?? I guess the approprate response would be open communication, but alot of times teenagers won't do that, so either way the parents really can't do anything that the child would not hate them for later in life. In reality she should not be having sex, she is not emotionally ready for that type of relationship. What happens if they break up? It happens, and at 14 is she ready to handle that kind of heart break? I think she is setting herself up to get hurt pretty bad. Usaully when "grown-ups" say something like "wait for sex", there is a reason, and the biggest problem is that you usually don't get it untill your older. Anyway, the staff at the school should be consistant, there should be NO kissing at all on campus, it the freakin ninth grade, I could understand an argument if the were in high school, but geese.

A sexual relationship in the 9th grade??!! I think its great she knows who she is at a young age, but no matter how "mature" she may seem, it is very innaproprate for her, or anyone else, no matter the sexual prefrence to be displaying affection at school in the 9th grade. I understand that they would be biased against, its going to happen, but 99.9% of the other students are not as involved as those two are. I hope her parents are understanding, and will sit her down, 9th grade is just to young for a sexual relationship

Albuquerque, first I'll start with Downtown, this is basicall what I can see as I drive into Albuquerque, I live just outside in a suburb called Rio Rancho Then some pics of the Ballon Fiesta, very cool, when your driving home from work to about 400 balloons in the air, hot air balloons, not regular ones. Then a one pic of the State fair, while in cali, fairs were LAME, but here its a very big deal, and the HUGE fairgrounds are packed, and there are tons of rides Well this pic will have to do for the state fair, maybe I'll do a photo TR, they have a few coasters, you know, just like the galaxi at cliffs, but in much poorer condition Pictures do not do it justice, it must be seen, it is really breathtaking Yeah, a few people come out to see the balloons Albuquerque, downtown As for sports, I don't care for College, not that it would matter here, but we have the Isotopes, yes the only baseball team named for a Simpsons episode, GO TOPES!!

Well finally Cliff's crappy website has been completely redone, but this time they have even less pictures, arrggh, but the site looks alot better. Looks like they are doing the retro thing, they have a new logo, and I think its a big improvement over the generic one they had before http://www.cliffs.net

I have not even been near a Cobalt, so I'm just repeating what has been said in some of the reviews I have read. I also perfer non turbo'd or supercharged engines 2005 Chevy Corvette, 400hp an 28mpg on the freeway. Also I have has some friends with turbo's and when they go out, yikes lots of $$$$, I had heard that superchargers, or actually we could just call them blowers, are a bit more reliable, and cheaper to fix, that is what I was told I will check out the cobalt very soon, but have to work up the will power to not punch the car saleman in the face when he says "why don't you come inside so we can see what we can do for you today", after I've told him multiple times I'm just looking I wish Saturn made cars worth caring about, because I love the way they run the dealerships. In reality I personally am looking for a replacement for both our SUV, a 1995 honda passport, and my little kia, we will probably keep the kia untill it croaks I am looking at the PT Cruiser because you can remove the seats, like a minivan, and have all that room, and it gets 29mpg, I'm not to concerned with the power, as I don't usually drive fast, and the car would be used for trips. As for reliability, I have had a TON of luck with my crappy little Kia, and thats what I bought it for, I have friends who have stopped buying american, because there are problems with the cars, and the dealerships don't fix it, or give you the run around. I'm very leery of all american small cars, but the PT Cruiser did get a best buy from Consumer guide, I still don't know, and it takes me some time to make up my mind I will not be buying a cobalt, or any other GM product, well except if I had the money for a Vette, or a nice full size truck

I think waiting for a bit for the Fuel Cell technology is a smart thing to do, I also think the hybrids are a good idea, but what they charge you extra for the car will take more than five years worth of gas to make up the diffrence, so for me, a small car with a good 4-cylinder that gets good MPG is the way to go. I think GM has a winner, as long as they don't blow it, like they usually do, with the fuell cell platform, allowing you to lease the platform, then attach any type of body to it, then coming in every few years and changing just the upper shell, so you could go from a Sedan, to a SUV. Its a great idea, lets just hope they pull it off I checked into the new small american cars, and it seems Chevrolet actually did a VERY good job on the Cobalt, it has a completly redisgned 4 cylinder and the interior has been described as High quality, WHAT!!??? in a chevy, no way. It get 34MPG, with 145hp, and has a GREAT crash test results, a top pick of the Insurance Institute for the frontal offset test, and for the side, if you get the side cutain airbags, (which I reccomend HIGHLY) it gets some of the highest ratings ever on a small car. If you want to go with performance, get the Cobalt SS. It has a supercharger, which is less troublesome, and cheaper to fix(generally speaking) than a turbo, has 205hp, and does 0-60 in 6.1 sec, not as fast as the Dodge Neon SRT-4, but much more refined, with better handling. BTW, I really do love cars, if you can't tell here's a pic of the Cobalt SS

Well not speaking for the brand new mustangs, but the previous model was very poorly built interior, basically you get a great engine, and thats what you pay for. I'm not saying its mechanically unsound, just poor materials and workmanship on the inside. As for the Chevy Cobalt, I have heard some positive reviews, but am hesitant to trust another 4-cylinder GM product, as they tend to keep designs a long time, and thier four is a terrible design, lets hope they completely redid it. The Ford focus has had I believe 17 recalls, thats far from reliable, and actually pretty sad, for a highly regarded american small car. Chrysler will replace the neon with a Mitsubishi product, I think right now they are the american company closest to being on the right track, and you know what, they can thank Mercedes for buying them, talk about a turn around.

There's a merry go round on Cannery row, that has to be the fastest I have ever seen, It's almost scary fast, I wonder if they have the voltage off, but overall, the SCBB carousel has to be one of the top in the country, with the rings and the clown and the original music box Well my favorite "ride" is probably Roaring Camp Railroad. They have a rail take you from the Santa Cruz Mountains, from a themed old west area, to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, pretty cool, if you can call it a ride, you can take the shorter ride up the mountian, and some days they have fake train robberies, fun times

Lord have mercy I went to Jerry Falwell's site, and this is what was written about a book he is offering, I almost died reading this Think Super hard core fundamentalist Christian teaching..... I'm expecting the lightning bolt any minute now
-
I was just offering a solution, if he was concerned about 4-cylinder power , besides I am not a fan of Neon's, but damn I read that...man that things gotta fly I just hope American cars can be good again, its starting to look promising, but with the Korean Cars, Hyundia specifically making GREAT strides in quality, I really don't see a solid reason to buy american, unless its a full size truck, we still do those pretty well. Oh, BTW here's my car, a 126hp Kia Spectra, Poor interior materials, but put together ok, old engine technology = no engine problem AT ALL, a good running car, that is quite boring. I have no real problems with power or passing, unless the A/C is on

Thats pretty much what happened to us, My wife really wanted a sportier car, So we researched the cars in our price range and checked out some she was intresed in. I remeber the look on her face when she sat in a Mustang, not the new one, the previous model, It was a look of horror, so poorly build, she Liked the Eclipse, but when she sat in and drove her Tiburon, that was it, she wanted it, so we got a 2003 Tib, and we are very happy, well she is, I rarely get to drive it, it is her car its like this, but Dark Blue, and we did get the GT V6

Well if you want to get technical, Mercedes bought Chrysler so its a Mercedes. And its VERY fast, I'm not sure you would consider reliability when buying a car like the SRT-4, thats not what its for. I think its great for what it is, its not as reliable, but is basically a factory street racer and ask your insurance agent, he won't give you the Neon rate for this car, its not a Neon
-
just filled up my car for $19.00 paid $2.12, its still dropping here
-
 Who can blame you, Very funny
-
Alright, if your really conserned just get this The Dodge SRT-4, (no its not technically a Neon) it has 230hp, and 250lbs of torque yeah its fast, VERY fast, SCARY fast 0-60mph in around 5.8 sec. and it only $21,000 plus I'm sure there will be rebated, at least $1000 so there you go, no more probs with the four oh, just FYI, you can upgrade the car with diffrent levels of turbo's, all installed by the dealer, and will never void your warranty, so go ahead and upgrade to the 300hp version, then you shouldn't have any problems at all

My favorite local resturant is where I used to be, they have the BEST breakfast in the world, and some AWESOME french toast Molly's in Scotts Valley, ca, awesome breakfast. Lunch and dinner I can't vouch for
-
Wow, exactly, make sure you know what you need, then research. My Kia is perfectly fine power wise, except when I have the A/C on, try the cars with the A/C on, not that it should be a deal breaker, but for my car, if I need to pas, i turn off the A/C pass, then turn it back on

gotta love California

Yeah, I really could care less, but I plan on having a beer or two, but no smokee

Modern 4-cylinder engines can have plenty of pick-up, they are not "fast", but can be quick. As long as you stay away from a Geo Metro, you should be fine. If you want a Honda Accord say, the new one has 160hp, now back in the day v-8's had 180hp, but had a little thing called tourqe The honda 4 has 161lbs of tourqe, and for a four cylinder that is not bad, now that is for the brand new don't be afraid of 4-cylinders, my next car will probably be a Chrysler PT Cruiser, and it has a 150hp 4-cylinder, and while its not fast, its all I need, and the seats come out, so I can VERY easily put my drumset in there Find a car that fits what you need, research the car, if you want to resell the car, the American full size pick-up, and Japanese Sedans have the best resale value, if you just want something cheap, go with a korean, Hyundia tied with Honda for 2nd in initial quality, and the Hyudia Sonata is the highest quality sedan, per J.D. Powers, but they still have little resale value, or if you know what you want, and can find out about repair history, get american There are MANY opinion on what brand to buy, but do the reaserch yourself and make your own choices I bought a Kia Spectra and some of my friends though that I should have bought a more "proven" brand, but I have 70,000, and still have 30,000 on my warranty, and have not neede it except for one problem with the seat. I was commuting and needed a car to run into the ground, and cheap, paid 9,000 after rebates, no complaints. I have been into cars for a long time if you have any question just PM me
