Disneyland in 1979
Melonballer replied to Melonballer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hope you all enjoy the pictures. Of course in 1979 you could find the Main Street Electrical Parade. Don't you just love that bar? Now the next pictures are not for the faint of heart. Here are pictures of the Hotel Room. Fantasy Waters. The Koi Pond The Pool. The Marina. One thing my mom has always done is take pictures of hotels. So I proudly present the Disneyland Hotel in 1979. They messed up our reservation, so they bumped us up to a suite. I still remember the room. It was so cool. In case you are wondering, we were in Bonita Tower. The view of Disneyland and the parking lot from the window. If you think a "It's a Small World" float is weird, here are some Roller Skating Disco Mouseketeers. Here's a float you may not have seen for a long time. Down in front! -
Since I don't get out to theme parks very often I don't get to contribute as much as I would like. However, I thought that you might enjoy some pictures my mother took on my first trip to Disneyland in 1979. Edit: I added a few more pics on page 4. The old Gray Subs, they ain't what they used to be. You can see the Peoplemover and the old queue for the Submarine Voyage, before Nemo moved in. It doesn't look too different from today does it? I know let's go on a ride on the Skyway. You can't do that anymore. Now for some pictures from the daytime parade of the day. When was the last time you saw Bongo and Lulubelle in the park The Motorboat Cruise. Yes that is me piloting the boat and getting between my Dad and the camera. Skull Rock and the masts of the pirate ship. You know, now that I think about it, we were probably going from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. Heck I am not even sure if the pictures were taken on the same day. I was only 3 years old at the time. More Skyway. Alice in Wonderland. Skull Rock and Captain Hook's ship in the background. Now through the Matterhorn. Fantasyland. If you look close you can see the old Fantasyland facades and even the top of a ticket booth. Then there is Disneyland at Night. My sister and I with Chip. I figured I should post this for the rodent fans. Ringmaster Mickey Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
Melonballer replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Last coaster I rode was Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, on November 18, 2006. Some kid stood up on it and the ride was e-stopped. Lukcilly I had just arrived back at the end of the ride before they did it. I was evacuated. -
Hi, I'm Melonballer, long time lurker, first time poster. I've been on 66 roller coasters. I live in Washington St. I'm a big Disney geek and have traveled to Disneyland 5 times (most recently 2006) and Disneyworld 3 times (most recently 2004). I also enjoy Cedar Point and Universal Orlando. My favorite coaster is Millenium Force. First Roller coaster I rode was Willard's Whizzer at Great America in Santa Clara many years ago.
