  1. I saw this at Holiday World's site. I was thinking of posting it but Robb you beat me to it! It is something I would deffinately go on but I won't be going to Holiday World anytime soon.
  2. These are the original Six Flags parks before Six Flags started buying other properties-for example SFDK & SFDL: -SFOT the first SF park opened in 1961 -SFAW defunct -SFT Texas used to be known as the 18 Flags Over Texas -SFOG -SFGreat Adventure -SFGreat America -SFSL -SFMM SF would have been fine today if they only owned their original parks. They bought too many over the years. They need to let some of those go but not the originals listed above.
  3. I have a quick question are all the Eerie Falls slides a single tube?
  4. If something happens to SFMM then all their coasters could be sent up to CGA. There's no way all of SFMM famous coasters would go to the scrap pile.
  5. I'm really wooried about the star parks in the chain-SFMM,SFGA,SFOT,SFOG,SFGreatAdventure,SFSL. Will those parks be safe through the trouble Six Flags is in & the economy? I really hope so. I don't want to see anything happen to them.
  6. 15 Companies That Might Not Survive 2009 Rick Newman Friday February 6, 2009, 11:53 am EST Yahoo! Buzz Print Who's next? With consumers shutting their wallets and corporate revenues plunging, the business landscape may start to resemble a graveyard in 2009. Household names like Circuit City and Linens 'n Things have already perished. And chances are, those bankruptcies were just an early warning sign of a much broader epidemic. Moody's Investors Service, for instance, predicts that the default rate on corporate bonds - which foretells bankruptcies - will be three times higher in 2009 than in 2008, and 15 times higher than in 2007. That could equate to 25 significant bankruptcies per month. We examined ratings from Moody's and data from other sources to develop a short list of potential victims that ought to be familiar to most consumers. Many of these firms are in industries directly hit by the slowdown in consumer spending, such as retail, automotive, housing and entertainment. But there are other common threads. Most of these firms have limited cash for a rainy day, and a lot of debt, with large interest payments due over the next year. In ordinary times, it might not be so hard to refinance loans, or get new ones, to help keep the cash flowing. But in an acute credit crunch it's a different story, and at companies where sales are down and going lower, skittish lenders may refuse to grant any more credit. It's a terrible time to be cash-poor. [see how Wall Street continues to doom itself.] That's why Moody's assigns most of these firms its lowest rating for short-term liquidity. And all the firms on this list have long-term debt that Moody's rates Caa or lower, which means the borrower is considered at least a "very high" credit risk. Once a company defaults on its debt, or fails to make a payment, the next step is usually a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Some firms continue to operate while in Chapter 11, retaining many of their employees. Those firms often shed debt, restructure, and emerge from bankruptcy as healthier companies. But it takes fresh financing to do that, and with money scarce, more bankrupt firms than usual are likely to liquidate - like Circuit City. That's why corporate failures are likely to be a major drag on the economy in 2009: In a liquidation, the entire workforce often gets axed, with little or no severance. That will only add to unemployment, which could hit 9 or even 10 percent by the end of the year. [Want to land a plum job without paying taxes? Here's how.] It's possible that none of the firms on this list will liquidate, or even declare Chapter 11. Some may come up with unexpected revenue or creative financing that helps avert bankruptcy, while others could be purchased in whole or in part by creditors or other investors. But one way or another, the following 15 firms will probably look a lot different a year from now than they do today: Six Flags Is One Of Them: Six Flags. (SIX; about 30,000 employees; stock down 84%). This theme-park operator has been losing money for several years, and selling off properties to try to pay down debt and get back into the black. But the ride may end prematurely. Moody's expects cash flow to be negative in 2009, and if consumers aren't spending during the peak summer season, that could imperil the company's ability to pay debts coming due later this year and in 2010.
  7. I would do it in this order if I were you & get Knotts out of the way first-save the best for last! Mon-Knotts Tues/Wed-Disney Thurs-SFMM YES PLEASE GET TO SFMM BEFORE THEY OPEN THE GATES!!! RUN TO X2!!! Trust me you do not want to get stuck in a 2 1/2 hour line for X2!!! Then go right to Tatsu & Superman.
  8. I won too! Whoo Hoo!!! I LOVE Universal Orlando!!! I'd sure love to go back. I haven't been since 2006. But I might not get to use my ticket because my mom said there's no vacation for those who don't have a job. I've never won a contest before. Thanks for posting this! Just after I read the post on TPR on Sunday I registered.
  9. I went on it when it was Paul Bunyan in 1993, 1996, & 1999. It's been a long time so I can't really remember it. I have the ride picture from 1993 & 1996. Anyone else have a ride picture from when it was the Paul Bunyan theme?
  10. If I ever go on this again which I dought what is the best row to sit in? I just don't want my neck pulled to the side for the whole time again.
  11. I went on Roar at SFDK & disliked it but I'll go on it again since it's nowhere near as bad as Ghost Rider especially since I have experienced Ghost Rider & Ghost Rider is much worse. Now Roar can't be that bad. Aren't the two both GCI's?
  12. The Great American Scream Machine at SFGA, The Texas Giant at SFOT, & American Eagle at SFGA oh & the Beast, & Son of the Beast all look as good as Colossus. Ghost Rider is way down on my list & will never top it.
  13. ^^I am not getting out of California. No way. I'm sorry but California has some of the best parks out there & I love living in the same state as Disneyland & SFMM.
  14. Wooden Out & Back- Colossus SFMM Wooden Twister- I don't have one yet. Wooden Racing/Dueling- I don't have one yet. Mine Train- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Disneyland Anaheim. Arrow Multi Looper- Viper, SFMM. In The Dark- The Mummy, USF.
  15. Ghost Rider is the WORST! I went on it for the first time last summer & during the whole ride my neck was streched out to the right. I thought it was going to fall off. I love Colossus at SFMM. Colossus is the best.
  16. Riding Goliath at SFMM during one point my vision whited out for a second or two because it was so fast. I thought that would happen again but nope it didn't after my second ride on it last summer. I do believe staying in shape for the parks helps alot. I was more in shape & ready for SFMM last year. Thats the only time I have whited out.
  17. When should we here about the prices for the Qubot's for SFMM? I'm guessing the Gold will be around $50 & the upcharge for X2 & Terminator would be $10 each?? Just a guess.
  18. Oh that just cracked me up what Robb said in the video "water, water, water, water, water!"
  19. I'd deffinately go to SFOT. That Six Flags park is one of the best of the Six Flags chain.
  20. Nope! I'm not going until I see some big changes to the park & especially a few new coasters.
  21. In no particular order: -X2 -Tatsu -Riddlers Revenge -Batman -Superman The Escape -Incredible Hulk -The Mummy USF -Dueling Dragons -Space Mountain Disneyland Resort CA -Big Thunder Mountain Railroad -California Screamin -The Matterhorn -Goliath SFMM -Viper SFMM -Greased Lightnin that was at CGA -Montu -Kumba -Colossus SFMM -Rock N Roller Walt Disney World -Scream SFMM -Medusa SFDK -V2 Vertical Velicoty SFDK Sorry I've got more than 10! Too hard to decide on just 10!
  22. From end of August 2006 to end of January 2008. I was going CRAZY! I will NEVER EVER wait that long to ride a coaster again! I've got to get on coasters every year! Especially at SFMM & the Disneyland Resort CA-my two favorite places in the world!
  23. I already knew it! I am no way interested in a show like that. I won't be going back until CF gives us some good decent rides. May not be for at least 10 years until I go back. I may be waiting until the cows come home for at least 5 decent coasters to show up.
  24. It better be something other than that stunt show!!! I just want to find out!!! I wonder what time tom the new attraction will be posted on their site.
  25. My homepark is boring CGA. YAWWWWN!!! My favorite coasters are 2 that are not there anymore but running in another park: 1. Stealth (now at Carowinds) 2. Greased Lightnin/Tidal Wave (now at SFKK) If I had to choose one that is still at my homepark I would choose the Demon-it is special because it was my first upside down coaster.
