  1. I can tell you they are going FAST so please register!!!!
  2. MORE WEST COAST BASH TICKETS!!!! I just received a call from Six Flags Magic Mountain - I have 100 additional tickets available for West Coast Bash 2009. I need you to go to the TPR Store NOW and register. PayPal payments ONLY will be accepted. http://www.themeparkreview.com/store/index.php?categoryID=9 For those of you who are registering now, please email me directly after registering as there will be some conditions on these additional tickets because they have been added at such a late date. Once these tickets are gone there will be NO MORE AVAILABLE and there will be NO TICKETS AVAILABLE ON SITE! REGISTER NOW!!! --Robb ps. I am told by Six Flags Magic Mountain that they are working towards doing what it takes to reduce lines during ERT given the additional people.
  3. ^ I don't see your file having been uploaded. Did you delete it? If you did, could you re-upload it and see if you get the same error. If you do, leave the video there so I can show it to the programmers. Thank you! --Robb
  4. With that information, I'd say no. Perhaps take a relaxing day at Universal. Do the WaterWorld show, see Shrek 4D and Terminator, and by the time you do the tram tour and the lower lot stuff, and maybe even take a stroll around CitiWalk and a nice sit down lunch, you're looking at a 6 hour day minimum. Belmont is absolutley safe at night. Good crowd down there. PP is a little sketchy, but I would highly doubt you'd have ANY trouble. --Robb
  5. ^ Yeah, well a TPR podcast isn't anywhere in our future plans so for right now you'll all have to be happy with me guest starring on other shows! --Robb
  6. Hey everyone! This week I was asked to come on "The Season Pass" podcast and talk about Theme Park Review, our TPR Trips, Roller Coasters in the Raw and lots of totally random stuff! You can check out the podcast here: http://seasonpasspodcast.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=444969 Click on the "Pod" logo to stream on your computer or you can also get this podcast on iTunes! Post comments please! --Robb
  7. ^ Yes, I forgot about that VERY important point! --Robb
  8. ^ "Stories" yes. But I've been there three times now, and traveled all over China and haven't seen it happen ONCE! Remember we were there about the same time those stories broke. So my guess is that someone saw it, created a news story around it and it gets repeated over and over whenever they need some dirt on Hong Kong. I'm guessing that people peeing at HKDL happened about as many times as SFMM was going to close. --Robb
  9. See, I question the validity of the article when I see things like this. How much time did we spend at mainland Chinese parks and how many people did I see urinating in the park? ZERO! In fact, I saw people go into...wait for it...THE BATHROOM! So when I see things like "CONTINUALLY" explain.... and I've witnessed NONE of the problems that someone say CONTINUALLY happen, I have to call shenanigans! For the record, I have seen more people pee in the park at Disneyland in California than I saw pee in any of the Chinese parks. (The unfair advantage of course is I spent about 1300 days at Disneyland over a period of 5 years) --Robb
  10. I'm sorry to say that this won't be the case. I did even talk to the park about this earlier today and even Magic Mountain agreed that any more people at this time could create substantial lines during ERT and lunch. The only chance of extra tickets at this time is if someone shows up for regsistration and says, for example "There are 5 people in our party, but only 3 made it...can you sell the tickets to someone else?" Beyond that, there won't be any extra tickets that magically appear on Sunday morning. While I know the flyer did say we would have tickets on-site it also said very clearly "we STRONGLY recommend you fill out the form below or preregister online to guarantee admission to West Coast Bash 2009" We did not expect to sell out and I feel very bad that we have no more tickets, but everyone (Six Flags Magic Mountain, RideWorld, and TPR) agree this makes the most sense for the quality of the event. One goal of all events TPR is involved with is that we don't just want people for the sake of people, we want a GOOD EVENT! At the moment we have 600 people registered and even if only 1/2 of those go to X2 first thing in the morning there is going to be a line. A MUCH shorter line usually than normal park hours, but still a line. I would STRONGLY encourage those of you coming to the event to try to ride Tastu, Viper, Superman, Revolution, and Ninja (weather permitting) and get some breakfast first. Keep in mind that if you are waiting in a long line at X2, there is probably another coaster with no line at all. There WILL be ERT on X2 during night ERT also. So please keep that in mind. --Robb
  11. I agree with pretty much everything you said! For me though, Florida is a lot like So Call with many of it's strenghs and fewer of it's weaknesses. It has good weather year round (not as good as So Cal, let's say, but close), it has GREAT parks, it's laid back, relaxing, etc. It doesn't have any of the Californian "attitude" or traffic, which is a HUGE plus. I will take the old people and the hurricane's over a$$holes and earthquakes any day! I'd personally rather be almost anywhere on the east coast than in California if it wasn't for my job. --Robb
  12. No, actually I would say it's "Safe to say to let Six Flags Magic Mountain" make that call, not you. The email I got from the park this morning about X2 is as follows: I trust their judgement. They know the forecast just like everyone else. Seems like they are "worried" about Ninja, not X2. So please don't go around telling people what is "safe to say" about our event when you don't have any information to back that up. Thank you. --Robb
  13. ^^ Yeah, sorry. We are really busy. We will get your stuff out to you, but please, PLEASE don't expect it to go out like OMG THE VERY NEXT DAY!!! Most "Bags-of-crap" will go out after WCB is over. --Robb
  14. ^ We are fine with setup, thank you. Any additional people at this point would probably be a distraction. Not saying that to be rude or anything, just letting you know that sometimes "too much" help actually hurts the process. --Robb
  15. Although, this year many of the WCB activities may keep attendees busy almost all day long if you choose to take part in some of them. While I don't want to discourage anyone just going to the park on their own that day, it may actually be difficult to meet up with the WCB for more than just a few minutes here and there if all goes as planned. --Robb
  16. ^ I have all of them down, yes. If you all have questions about specific orders please email me at robbalvey@aol.com. Thank you! --Robb
  17. ^ How many people do you have? It does say on the flyer the cut off for sending in a registration is March 9th. That was 8 days ago. I will contact you as soon as I get in your registration, but I'm afraid we may not have the tickets available. --Robb
  18. ^ Please read the thread! That was already posted 4 pages ago. --Robb
  19. ^ Wow! Looks like you've got your takers! PM me and I'll set up the ticket swap. I would need both of you guys to PayPal $31.05 each to store@themeparkreview.com Put "DDote77 WCB Ticket" in the "Subject" line for PayPal and once I get the payment I'll sort it out. --Robb
  20. Hey everyone! I know getting CoasterTube "live" is taking a little longer than we expected, but I think you'd all rather have something that is really solid, right? Anyway, we've done a lot of little improvements this week with the player. Probably not something you'd notice right away, but more "under the hood" stuff. If you all have some time, please browse around CoasterTube and even try to upload a video or two and see how it goes. http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/ Thank you! --Robb
  21. ^ From the front page: Please wait until we announce what we are getting for each park. Thank you! --Robb
  22. Wow! I'm impressed! Looks very much like the old trains with El Toro lap bars and some kind of speakers that don't seem to impact the riders behind them too much. AWESOME! --Robb
  23. ^ If you have pre-registered and the check is still on the way, you are fine. --Robb
  24. ^ You don't need it, but it wouldn't hurt. Everyone that has pre-registered will be recieving a big WCB email in the next day or two. --Robb
