Most of the shoreline along Lake Michigan (and the other Great Lakes) isn't disgusting. If you think it's like a normal inland lake with nasty muck, dirt instead of sand, and pee warm water, you have wrong impression. It's like an ocean, except without the jellyfish, sharks, stingrays, and saltwater. Dude, when you going to make another MA video on Youtube? I agree a relationship exists with the ride selection in the amusement park and the increase in demand for guests visiting the waterpark. Variety has shown to be important to guest's overall experience as most initial ride experiences decrease with each subsequent ride. If guests can't fill that need in the amusement park, it would make sense that they would be motitvated to visit the waterpark--even if that was not their intial choice, because of the variety. I know you said in one of your videos while visiting the amusement park side of MA, that it's the "same stuff every year." When similiar guests--especially season pass holders--share that same outlook, the decision to try the waterpark looks better--even if they're really more of a rides enthusiast.

Not that this procedure is an exact science or anything. I'm just wondering who in the coaster enthusiast community has claims of being in the top tier of experienced coaster riding (a.k.a. credit whores). I'm looking for a top ten whether you guys can throw me some names or give me a link.

This year I realized I should probably stop park hoppin' and settle down at one park for a while, so I'm returning to Michigan's Adventure. But in keeping with my theme of trying new things, I decided to switch departments instead of parks. I always wanted to be one of those old Coney Island barkers, "Hurray, hurray, hurray, step right up! Two dollars a play for the man in grey!" Congrats on TL of Shivering Timbers. I hear the ST ride ops used to do trivia for enthusiasts during Timbersfest, I'm hoping they bring that back this year. You could probably rip some sick spiels for that ride..."Welcome ST riders to the tallest, fastest, and longest wooden roller coaster in Michigan. We're going to take you up 122 ft and drop you .... .... ... oh yeah and bring you back safely." What! That show still exists? I thought they cancelled it. I have many fond memories of that show from my childhood. Especially when the cast goes into the crowd and the one female actress screamed mid-show at the sight of how handsome my father was and the red-faced look on my mother. Ahhhhhh Magical Moments...makes me miss Disney.

Quick question before this thread falls away. I'm actually doing a research paper on legendary rides from days past. If there is someone available, I'd just like to confirm my understanding of how this ride operated is correct. -You take a seat as a kicker or kickee with a partner -You remain attached as the ride begins and goes into full motion -At some point the ride op yells, "KiCk BoOdIe" and the kicker kicks -Then both people twist, lean, or use some object to connect with their partner and remain so until the ride stops to show their victory. -I'd also like to know if I'm correct in assuming from the pictures that the kickee chair usually faces forward, however in reconnecting with the kicker the kickee chair's usually is twisted and most often the two are connected facing each other. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been monitoring the weather for PPP and it's been complete inconsistent. It went from Rain, to Party Cloudy, to Few Showers, to partly sunny, and last I checked it was AM showers. I will be sporting my Phoenix shirt purchased circa 2003. (Though I will be a bit angry if they still sell it.) My friend will once again swagger around in his vintage and highly revered William's Grove tee.

I'm on my way from Guest Relations to the Merchandise Office at Cedar Point, when this boy in front of me grabs about 20 maps. He tells his friend, Boy-"Wow I got like 100 maps!" Friend-"Haha, hey let's go ride Demon Drop." So they start walking towards Demon Drop, about 4 paces ahead of me until they get to the entrance. It is then the boy realizes he doesn't want to carry his collection of maps and looks for a way to ditch them, however he doesn't want to throw all the new maps away in front of the ride op at entrance, and without taking the time to get a good look at who is behind him in full Cedar Fair supervisor uniform, he asks... "Ummmmm, do you need a map?" "Ohhhh I suppose not, I've managed the past 4 seasons without one." Realizing I'm a worker, he sheepishly puts his head down and started walking away, but I took the maps off his hands anyways. I laughed about it the whole day though, afterall everyday I help people navigate around the park, it was refreshing to have a guest try to help me. The only other one that I really remember was when Team Leader of Front Rentals and Infant Shop back in 05, and a boy asked me the most hated question on one of my bad days. "How much are your hats?" *We have over 15 types of hats* Instead of replying the usual, "Well which hat?", I just say this spiel as quickly as I can without pausing... "The black and white Cedar Point hats are $12.95, the fitted one are $14.95, the more popular hats...Millennium Force and Dragster hats are $11.95, now if you're looking for children's hats the one's with snoopy and woodstock are $7.95, and if you're looking for a great deal we have these red and blue Cedar Point visors only $5.95, or if you're looking for something more fun our jester hats are $13.95, however if you get the ones that light-up it goes up to $16.95, but wait, a fine fellow like yourself would love one our new fuzzy hats now only $10.95, so what do you say? The kid raised a finger to his mouth in a blank stare and just walked away. I think I fried his brain.

Ahh I see some garbage in this thread. I've seen enough to join these forums and clean some of it up. I forget if Gemini has automatic air gates or not. Either way, they must close very quickly to keep up with capacity. Especially on Gemini where if you don't load a train and dispatch it in a certain amount of time, you have to shutdown the ride. And come on, it's not like the gates shut instantly. It's extremely difficult to deal with brainless general public day in and day out. Guest-"The gate started closing and I got stuck." Me-"I'm terribly sorry, may I suggest getting out of the way next time." Ehhh, we're working on it. I guarantee you it wasn't SFGAm though. We are sent through metal detectors to ensure no one has a cell phone. That is not for safety reasons. A park makes ride ops ensure you don't jump rails for safety reasons. A park makes ride ops send you around when the train is empty to up the capacity count for the ride. I believed your story up to here. Now unless things are done much differently in England, there's is no possible way a single guest complaint could fire an entire crew. Every other story on this topic I believe though, but this one...I just don't think people realize how many guest complaints a park gets everyday. I got guest complaints for not letting on kids too short, but the family would say I didn't let on the other taller sibling just to get me in trouble. The park understands this and it's very rare they fire one employee over a guest complaint. This is probably the most garbage of comments on this topic. It's not like ride ops say, "Hey let's screw everyone over and not let everyone on." It was most likely they we're running a test to check for something dealing with the track, the train, or the computer system. We don't wait for someone to get hurt before we do the tests.
