As yet unnamed spinning coaster. Looking for feedback on layout and supports. I'm yet to build a station. Mountains and clouds are turned off to increase laptop performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekLQB34NkqI -
But there are other expenses with relocating such as ride/building demolition and new land purchase. Inconsequential at this point as the community has decided. Are we still looking at $150,000 on hand to begin refurbishment? Also would it be possible to associate the colors with the areas mentioned in the prices? My first thought would be to start with the entrance which I am assuming is red. The second area with Racer is blue. That's where I would start. Also there is some inconsistency with pricing. The bathrooms have different pricing $3,000-$5,000. Are these different bathrooms? some of them recur. Are they in overlap sections? So far I am at: Twister $50,000 Racer $60,000 Parachute Drop $7,500 I would say the Formal Entrance, but at $10,000 it sees a little steep to take funds away from actual attractions. If possible I would probably scrounge as much money by cutting corners here as it needs to be able to be entered, but it doesn't necessarily need to be exquisite. "Working order" will do. If that will still cost $10,000 then so be it. That puts the total at $127,500. The bathrooms would get the same treatment as the entrance. Unfortunately that means that there will probably be complaints about them, but people come to a park to have fun, not to look at the restrooms. I assume in the two areas there are more than one set of restrooms so I will take the combined $8,000 for two restrooms. Snack Shack $6,000 kind of expensive, but people will want some food. That leaves about $8,500 for some landscaping and beginning to refurbish some of the other rides. I would spread it around to get things closer to working order so that the company could use any profits to continue to refurbish other rides. OOC: And now that I've written a book, I want to compliment you on your park. This is not an easy idea, especially since you've given a hand in the planning to the community. Kudos to you for undertaking such a task. So far it looks great. Are you going to try to make any dilapidated photos? I think some of the vine CSO's would work well for gathering moss. Great Job on the park!

I have to go with option A. I just don't see how relocating would actually be cheaper than refurbishing. Start with an area of the park and hopefully get as much as possible in running order. Keep in mind this is the 1930's and the safety standards aren't there. A ride with structural flaws would be hidden from the patron's until something tragic happened.

That turn after the cobra roll into a L. Corkscrew Just says OWWW to me. Maybe get it into an MCBR before the corkscrew. Just seems like it will have way too much speed. -

Park is coming along. Another suggestion would be to smooth out the edges of the water. Unless you are going for a swampy look. Also there should be consistency with the footers above or below the water level. In this shot they just seem to be placed at land height, which makes them seem out of place. raise the footers to the water height. -

Ride could definately use some brakes before the turnaround for the station -
looks great. I noticed a large area of cleared land across a bridge. Plenty of room for a new coaster there. I think the 2 car trains on the Gerstlauer(sp?) spinner is a bit odd. Is there ever a time in the turns that they end up colliding? As far as connectors go, I have only found the JCat Mouseworx pieces you mentioned and the caps on Moby's Steel Jungle. Both leave me wanting, but as I don't really have any CSO creation ability I have been inclined to be content with what I have.

I would say Side B. Having history as hindsight and knowing the depression will only get worse until the US becomes involved in WW2. Metal will become rationed as the war effort picks up. For the park to survive it may even need a hiatus for a few years as so much of the population will be gone, attendance would be hard to come by. WW2 is a tough time to create a timeline through. I guess it depends on how long of a timeline you plan to have.

Wonderful job on the park and a great farewell post. I can't wait to see your next projects. You continue to improve your RCT3 building prowess. It is a shame that RCT3 lags so badly. I would have loved to have been able to look at your park. The best way for one to improve something is to learn from those that are great. You have tons of talent. Best of luck in your future endeavors in game and in life.

WOW. Awesome job. Those look amazing. I looked around on the site for a while and wish I had the time, space, and patience to build a working model. Have you ever thought of doing an inverted coaster as the next step? It seems plausible that the track would support the car hanging. The hardest part would be modifying the lift. Just an idea to keep things interesting. One thing I would suggest would be to get a camera capable of a high shutter rate and then slowing down the video of the scale coasters. I think it would add to the realism as the scaled speed makes it a bit blurry. Once again they look amazing. Good luck with your future projects.

I'm a bit confused by the speculation; isn't it a wooden coaster? I don't really see that being themed to the Green Lantern especially with Green Falcon already being a ride there. How many Green _______ rides could you really want? My guess would be some sort of cyclone wooden coaster. It would fit into the cleared area and be a good addition to the park. Until the inevitable Six Flags treatment/(lack of) upkeep of it makes it completely unrideable.

Halloween theming looks good. One thing I would say is to smooth out some of the jagged mountains. You have the stalagmite look going for a lot of them. -

The path changed when windows updated their OS. There are plenty of videos on youtube that explain it. This one is Vista, but it is the same issue and it worked the same for me. Someone please correct me if it's different.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_x8ot08W9U -

What sort of landscaping do you want the ride on? Are you thinking flat land? or terrain coaster? -

From a park I have been working on. Here are three rides that I've finished. Two of them weren't finished when I did the video, but the first one (Falcon) has all three of them close to where I want them. I need a name for the park. I will put more photos and videos up when I get a chance. Approximately 50% of the park is done. I've put the rides in that I want for now, just have to finish theming the flat rides. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqj-MI7EpiA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59-D6ABFyTM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XYcI3uNDbI -

I'm trying to undertake the monumental task of custom supporting a wooden coaster. The problem I run into is that the support killers(SK) that I have won't kill the supports all the way to the track. If I raise it to the highest level before the track, it usually leaves one segment of In-game supports. Not to mention it gives the ugly support killer shadow. If I bury the support killer below the ground one height level, removing the shadow for that SK, it has no effect. I mainly use the SK in JCat's Steelworks, but I have another in one of the catwalk sets that gives me the same problem. What SK's do you use or recommend? is there a way around the SK shadow besides burying it or turning off shadows? Thanks -
Looks great! I will be sad when it comes to an end. As far as a finish, I think another hurricane hitting the park and it going SBNO ala SFNO would be a way to finish it off. The park has been hit by a hurricane before. While a SFNO Scenario is less likely in SC, it would be possible that many rides would be damaged beyond repair. Just an idea. You have done a great job with the park.

So I was playing around with it some more. I don't think order has anything to do with it. I think it is more the largest body of water gets the reflection. I have come to the same conclusion that it is just a matter of the game engine not rendering reflections for more than one body of water. Thank you for trying to help. -

So I'm having an issue with reflective water. I have searched around the interwebz as well as both within this thread and the forum as a whole and have not found a conclusive answer. I have reflective water enabled and it works, sometimes. In a single park I can get it to work in some places and not others. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Current Situation Water Problem 2.bmp Body of Water A when it was working. Note that this was prior to B being created edit: I realised it started happening when I made Body of Water B, so I went back and got rid of said body, and A went back to being reflective while a third body not pictured in either stayed non reflective Water Problem 3.bmp Now A works and B doesn't
