  1. I love taking trips with TPR and being able to write them off as business expenses. There is something to learn from every park I go to.
  2. I found this floating in our new kiddy pool this morning. I think this calls for a photo caption contest.
  3. We’ve added a bunch of cool things to the park this year; a new Kid’s play area, additional acre for seating, lounging and shading, “Beach Parties” group and events area but best of all...I am please to announce...coming to Cowabunga Bay in 2012...drum roll please! PINEAPPLE DOLE WHIP
  4. Yes Mark, do you have an answer?
  5. I don’t have that video, but try lotion or vaseline...I think that might help you out where you need it...lol
  6. Sorry Larry, there is nothing on them that indicates the date. Judging from the artistic style I would guess sometime in the later 40’s. Can't be later 40s...it has the Corkscrew on one of the images! c’mon Robb, certainly you can’t think I was serious?!?!?! I know both the Corkscrew and Silverwood weren’t around in the 40’s. I meant the stylist look of the brochure seems like it came out of the 1940’s.
  7. You all know what a fan I am of Theme Park history, and if you don’t you should check out my “Shane’s Amusement Attic” thread here on TPR. As part of our new expansion to the park I thought it would be fun to pay homage to an old logo of a theme park. Anyone know which park logo???
  8. As promised, here is more or Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho. I wish there was more I could say about this small park, but quite honestly I don't know too much about it. I have visited it a couple of times and always love riding the Corkscrew because it takes me back to the Roaring 20's of Knott's. Anyone know of any interesting facts or history of this park? Please share.
  9. I love that old Busch Gardens logo! Great update. I can never get enough of that funky Old Chicago park.
  10. There is a lot going on this season at the park and just like the big parks...there is 13 days before opening yet there still is a lot to do. Weather, permits and the unforeseen always seem to push everything to the last hour. Here is a quick construction update on things happening at the park. We WILL make our opening date (even if I have to stay until midnight every night). we are adding one more acre of room to the park. Each new patio area will include pop jets to create more water fun. Lots more room for lounging, shading and group events. (this picture was a week ago before all the sod went down) Digging the new Cowabunga Kid’s Cove pool. when this is done it will be a nice new sign for the new area. New platform for the “Squiggler” water slide. The new “Guppy Racer” slide. I know it is small (please no “that’s what she said jokes) but it is for a kiddie area. ummm...we hope to attract a lot of moms and “daddies” to the new area what a difference an acre makes. grass always makes things better the beginnings of the new kid’s pool. it’s the details that make it. My niece is a great artist, and she works for minimum wage...lol as Latrice Royal would say...”bring on the shade"
  11. Hey thanks for the compliment, I take great pride in our park...just like Disney.
  12. Sorry Larry, there is nothing on them that indicates the date. Judging from the artistic style I would guess sometime in the later 40’s.
  13. Silverwood Part 2 coming soon!
  14. SILVERWOOD Since Silverwood is celebrating 25 years, let's take a look back at this unique park, the park with the original Arrow Corkscrew.
  15. Well, I just cancelled my trip to Cedar Point...New Mexico here I come! First "Dallas" coming back, and now this. What's next...Jesus?
  16. We have launched a new web page. Still working out a few kinks and bugs...what do you think? http://www.cowabungabay.com
  17. I just found another box of goodness, looks like there will be another Season or two of Shane’s Amusement Attic!!
  18. All right smart ass...This is the power of marketing at its best. The "more shade" angle has tripled my season pass sales this year! Trust me, I have learned over the years from Theme Park marketing, you make the most out of what little you've got. Yes, it is not the fish pipe, it is a much better version from Euro Bungy called the Pipe Rider. You surf in barrel rather than a globe, it provides a much better wave effect than the fish pipe...and as we all know, I am not a fan of the fish.
  19. I will wait until they actually start rebuilding it before I get excited. To many ideas get started with lack of funds and never finish. I take it you speak from experience?

  21. I love the beginning of a new Season. I hope you all will come visit us at Cowabunga Bay this year. [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Cowabunga_movie_pul0[/coastertube]
  22. Hello Attic Fans- Don't worry, the attic has not gone dry. There is still plenty to share. I just got back from a great TPR to Dubai and my hats off to Elissa & Robb for such incredible planning, organization and especially bonuses. The water park day was the sh*t!. So before we get ready to open Cowabunga Bay for the 4th season I am going to squeeze in some Amusment Attic updates. So let's start off with a look at the old Elitch Gardens and the true Twister. Shane ELITCH GARDENS
  23. I am so excited about new attractions coming to Cowabunga Bay this season. Not only are we doubling the size of the park and adding an entire new kids area called “Cowabunga Kid’s Cove” but we also have this AWESOME new creation from Euro-Bungee coming to the park. Check it out: https://www.onlinefilefolder.com/3sPf4v4V9q3Dvg Sorry to post the link, I will try to figure out how to upload the actual video later.
  24. What are they doing to their lazy river? Is that some kind of new fiberglass layer they are putting over the original material?
  25. This is a great post on all the early Six Flags parks: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=504977#504977
