  1. OMG! OMG! Congrats! B&M shares with Intamin the 1st place on my manufacturers rank. The rides are absurdly smooth, fun, fast... Ohhh and that roar... Keep riding!
  2. Ohhh, TERRIFIC NEWS! How I miss Liseberg... Next year hopefully I will be there again... The drop tower design looks awesome and carrying Intamin`s signature it will for sure be a blast! Cheers from Rio!
  3. Mr. Alvey and Co, My partner and I have decided for CHINA, AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND as our destinies next July. I know you guys had a blast (when you do not?! ) in our last trip to China. So, whoever can contribute with hints, non-miss parks/coasters, etc we will highly thank. Cheers from the extremely hot Rio, Gus.
  4. I got PayPal working and could place the order. Thanks a lot!
  5. Hello Rob and Elissa, I placed my order yesterday, however I need to wait for the PayPal site to send me the proper info to confirm my credit card and then conclude the money transfer. So, the point is I am in the middle of the task where I believe my order was not successfully placed by Feb the 1st. Is it ok with you guys to wait? If not, I would more than understand. But I am a newbie to the PayPal and did not know it would take a few days to open an account, though. Let me know how to proceed, please! All the best, Gus
  6. 15/20 without checking rcdb... I am kinda happy with this result... hehehe
  7. - Favorite new coaster BALDER, NITRO and EL TORO - Favorite new ride S.S. POWER GIANT SWING - AWSOME! - Favorite new park Although it's not a new park, it was new for me: Liseberg - Most memorable park moment When my brother in law proposed to my sister in front of Sleepy Beauty's Castle, @ Disneyland - Most memorable coaster moment NITRO, when - on the lift hill, a chicken friend of mine said: "guys, look at that coaster over there, you can ride it later..." Then I replied: "THAT coaster is actually the same one we are in now!" - Best ERT session Never been to one... None invites me... HAHAHAHA - Least favorite coaster Flashback/Grizzly - Least favorite ride Rotor - Least favorite park Terra-Encantada (in Rio) - Most interesting ride you've seen introduced Intamin's 4th dimension coasters... - Least interesting ride you've seen introduced Spinning wild mice - Your favorite TPR moment (favorite post, trip report, video, whatever!) When Rob and Elisa replied personally to one of my e-mails... HAHAHA - The decade's biggest flop Son of Beast - The decade's biggest success All Intamin's and B&M coasters. Mack as well - The best meal you've had at a park Meat and sweet corn at Islands of Adventure (in a restaurant across the DD) - The worst meal you've had at a park SFGAdv fruit salad (only grapes) and a soda. I almost exploded with gases... - Best park turnaround Six Flags - Worst park turnaround Hard Rock Cafe - What was the biggest trend of this past decade? Intamin and B&M coasters. Guys, I must say it has been a lot of fun to be part of TPR. Thank you so much for your advices, comments, pictures, funny videos and great humor. Hopefully we will meet next year. May all of you and yours have a superb 2010, packed with airtime, loops, fun, love, peace and friends. Gus.
  8. Guys, I voted yes. However, please remember to make it attractive even for non-US residents - like me! That would be great if TPR could promote ERT and events abroad as well, but facing the management difficulties in doing so, I am not quite sure if it would be possible. Take care and may you all have a wonderful 2010, packed with great emotions and roller-coasters!
  9. Just to thank you all for the prompt responses. Regards, Gus.
  10. Hey guys! My partner and I will be to NYC for Halloween this year (Oct 30 thru Nov 2). We for sure wanna go to SFGAdv to get the most of the coasters. Therefore, I kindly ask your advices about about best days to go, passes (Flash pass x Flash pass gold), Halloween events, etc. I am the kind of guy that needs to ride each coaster as much as possible, stopping only when I see my partner is near death... LOL. So... Thanks a lot! Cheers from Rio, Gus.
  11. Hey everyone! After my trip to Scandinavia, I dropped by London in my way back home. Reading the free Metro newspaper, I saw this incredible report where a 36yo stuntman, out-of-his-mind-and-senses, decided to roller-skate the Mammut Wooden Coaster at Tripsdrill, Germany. I have just scanned the report and wanna share it with you. It looks completely insane. And I cannot tell why, but I wanna do that too. LOL Cheers from Rio, Gus. London Metro Newspaper - July 22nd, 2009
  12. Well, I might have gotten it wrong... I really thought Manta would be much longer than it appears on the above pictures. Drop+Pretzel+2curves+that's_it! Comparing to Kraken or Kumba or Montu I really don't see it as a revolutionary ride. Hopefully, after riding it, I will change my mind. Cheers, Gus. PS - How longer is Tatsu compared to Manta?
  13. Hey, Soren! Let me know if you plan a trip to Rio. It would be great to meet one of my TPR mates and have some fun around. Terra-Encantada as I said has a nice Intamin 8-looper. But Rio hosts one of the best water-parks ever: RIO WATER PLANET. So, just let me know if you're around. Enjoy your stay in Brazil and take good care of the jewl you got from this land. Gus.
  14. Hey guys! So cool to see a review about Hopi-Hari here at TPR. Here in Brazil, among many small amusement parks, we have 3 major theme-parks: Hopi-Hari (near Sao Paulo), Terra-Encantada (Rio) and Beto Carrero World (in the south). By far, Hopi-Hari is the best one: nice attractions, great theming and cozy environment for you to spend a joyful day at. Montezum, its signature attraction, is a RCCA wooden coaster which I myself wrote an article to Timber Tales Magazine (from Wood Coasters Fun Club - WCFC / USA). The coaster was once the 5th tallest woodie in the world and was once a great ride, ruined due its poor maintenance. The ride is packed with head-chop effects, many hills and a 360 degree inclined helix. Nowadays, the two 5:3:2 PTC trains seem to run with square wheels and the coaster became a brutal experience after all. I would not say it was once smooth - no RCCA coasters are (not the ones I rode already!), but it was once a great ride for sure. Hopi-Hari defines itself as another country, with its own language and passport (the entrance ticket). It has 5 themed areas and its main attractions are an Intamin Drop Tower, a Sky-Coaster, an Intamin river-rapids ride and 4 coasters: - Montezum: RCCA Woodie - Vurang: Intamin Spinning/Dark - Katapult: Schwarzkopf Shuttle (aka king kobra / thunderlooper) - Billi-Billi: Zamperla Buffalo Coaster Beto Carrero is huge, but poorly themed: almost a poorly executed copy of famous US parks (Disney, Busch, etc) with LAME, LAME rides. Terra-Encantada (enchanted land), with its wide expertise in filling up chapter 2, became a ghost-town and is not enchanted anymore (was it ever?). The only good things at the park are the Intamin Drop Tower and the Intamin 8-looper Monte Makaya. Hope you all have a joyful and happy 2008! Cheers from Rio, Gus.
  15. Shark and King, Thank you both very much for your help and advices. Shark, I only have a couple of hours at night and will relay on públic transportation. Therefore, I will chose PAD instead of SFMadrid. Another point is that I´ve already ridden many B&M coasters and Deja Vu in US. So PAD brings some new options to me. King, a couple of hours is all I will have to visit Prater. Thank you for pointg me out your fave coaster there. I think I will stop by for a quick ride on Volare, Super 8er Bahn, Megablitz and Hochschaubahn. Thanks and best regards from Rio de Janeiro, Gus.
  16. Hey Robb! Hey Folks! Next July I will be travelling to Vienna and Madrid. Needless to say, I am looking so forward to attending to some parks, but with very limited time, I need your advice. What not to miss in Wiener-Prater? In Madrid, which one should I pick: Parque de Atracciones or Six Flags? Any hint is more than welcome. TIA, Gus.
