  1. DirkFunk, I may have misunderstood your comment; sorry if I have. The Vampire at Chessington may have changed its cars years ago but they still "swing". Check out some of the video clips on youtube.
  2. The Smiler at Alton Towers, last weekend. Loved the theme, very good operations, beautiful looking coaster but sadly only 2 pops of airtime and not necessarily scary or thrilling. I really REALLY wanted to enjoy this more than I did. I'll try again at Halloween Lines were at 3 hours within about an hour of the park opening...I got away with a 50 minute wait. Fast passes weren't advertised but they are available if you ask. Nemesis was running like a demon, I'm pleased to say.
  3. I love it! Nothing like a good 'ole Golden Ticket Awards to rattle a few cages! A lot of people saying how they don't take it seriously but then getting v upset. Stop complaining and vote! If you can't vote because you don't get out enough, you definitely can't complain and you can't compare. The number of voters is so insignificant...of course it might not be representative of the masses. I think maybe these are the Golden Ticket Comedy Awards? Certainly made me laugh anyway For what it's worth, I don't agree with some of the results but I still do love a bit of Cedar Point and I'm not going to knock it because it did well. I do agree with a member who said EPCOT should feature for best food. Funny that Blackpool is in the top 10...I love a day or 2 there but top 10??!! Funny Somehow I don't think these awards are going to influence the public too much. Did I mention I was in Ohio last month on my travels and my taxi driver fell asleep at the wheel? Maybe Sleeping At the Wheel Taxi Driver's of Doom of Ohio Awards would be taken more seriously next year??
  4. The funniest thing ever! Although I do need to get some therapy now...!
  5. Ya ya ya....and what a rough film too!
  6. The Swarm at Thorpe Park, last week, 6 times Really a lot better than I was expecting, especially the left hand side nearer the front. Smoother than a baby's bum and top notch theme! Winneeeeeeeeeeeeeer! Swaaaaaaaaarm!
  7. Well as a Brit going to CP mid-August this year (7 of us in total) I am really pleased. It's a long way to go so I am definitely going to make the most of it (although when I went a couple Augusts ago it wasn't too busy). And in comparison I am off to Thorpe Park next week and their Fast Lane wrist band costs £70 (about $100), so a good deal to be had at CP! Woop woop! Can't wait! Jamie
  8. I've never been, but would love to. As a HW virgin, I'm ever more keen to visit with this announcement. Looks fab-u-louuuus Just hold on tight folks
  9. Personally I think people should wait and see. It could be great, it could be disappointing, who knows yet? The layout is possibly due to restrictions with space / money ...although it looks to be an improvement on Raptor's layout in my view. None of Thorpe Park's coasters are particularly long, but they are, on the whole, good cocepts and have interesting and unique selling points. For me, it's about what a park needs too, and this will be a unique addition to Thorpe Park. I like that they want to tell a story and have people invest more in an attraction. The first drop looks great, agreed, and if they can add some effects to the remainder of the ride it should be a great experience. I don't think it's always about the intensity, the speed or the airtime, it's about the experience and where this fits into your whole day out. Personally I am looking forward to riding it
  10. Hey raptor boy, I know that feeling off runing for a plane and the shakes and the sweat...grrrr...nasty feeling! And don't hold back on the "stalker shots"...! He he! Jamie
