^ LOL. I know it's rough...I built it only in the editor, which explains why there are no colors. Thanks for commenting at all, haydawg...I was bored and decided to waste my time with it, so the 'waste of time' was intentional. -
Since my simulator is working crap right now, I just put this thing together for fun. I know it's not very smooth (handbuilt, no tools) but I like it. It's a funky little "family" Intamin that's really not a family ride at all...I mean, what family coaster is about 135 feet tall or so and reaches 53 mph? But I had fun with it and gave it a funky name that makes me think of a lot of Japanese Coasters with funny names. Please comment! I had fun making it, and I hope you have fun riding. Frog Coaster.nltrack Here it is! I'll try to get photos when my sim gets up and working.

It's totally irrelevant and random, but this forum is titled random, random, random, right? Even so, I might get flamed for creating this random stupid thread...but I thought that it might be amusing. Well, I'm Chinese, so I had Chinese food! And not the takeout crap that people seem to love. We made this nice hot pot (that sounds REALLY, REALLY wrong) and put in the following things: 1- Lamb 2- Beef 3- Cabbage 4- Cellophane Noodles 5- Spinach (and no, I didn't die) 6- Shrimp 7- Broccoli and the best thing: 8- FISH BALLS! No, they're just balls of fish...yeah...fish balls... What about you?

COMING SOON TO HONG KONG DISNEYLAND!!! Hong Kong Disneyland has announced a new roller coaster, designed by WED. It is in the vein of WED's popular "Big Thunder Mountain Railroad" roller coasters, found at all other Disney parks. But this ride is much more culturally oriented, due to it's location in China. Park officials have announced the storyline to their new coaster: "You are walking in Nanjing, China. As you approach the Nanjing mountains in the distance, you see some pieces of track that resemble an abandoned railroad. As you approach, you see a small path leading up to an old wooden station. You climb inside the car and off you are, into the mountain ranges of Nanjing, China." The new coaster is going to be titled Pagoda Peak and it will feature two lift hills, two high-speed tunnels, and it will be set around a heavily terrained area surrounded by numerous bamboo trees. It will open at the beginning of the 2007 season. With a top speed of 40 mph, and a 40 foot drop, this is one of Hong Kong Disneyland's biggest projects to date. The price has been unreleased to the general public, but HKDL has told the press that it is their most expensive ride so far. - HONG KONG CHRONICLES (transl. by JOHN CHOI) WARNING: Pagoda Peak is a high-speed, rollercoaster-like ride through the Nanjing mountains, zipping through a bamboo forest that may involve sharp drops, tight turns and sudden stops. Please do not ride if you are pregnant, have back problems, or have motion sickness. You must be 42 inches to ride Pagoda Peak. Thank you, and enjoy your ride. --- Pagoda Peak is my second coaster on NL. It is a wooden roller coaster somewhat inspired by Disney's Thunder Mountain...however, this ride only has two lifts. AND no earthquake effect. THE G'S ARE IN CHECK!!! However, it is still rather rough. I don't think I'd be screaming OW OW OW on it every second *cough* Manhattan Express *cough* but I don't think I'd be completely comfy. I'm still working on pumping...it's really hard to get the radius of the turns right. But besides that, I worked on this much longer than on Dragon. In fact, I started this quite a bit before Dragon. There are some bunny hops, and lots of turns, some wide, some tight. The two tunnels that go through the terrain ARE INTENTIONAL. The terrain is put there FOR THAT PURPOSE. BTW, this is NOT going to HKDL. I just spent a half an hour writing that fake press release. Pagoda Peak-060907151412003.bmp A small photo. No Limits Track: Dragon
esomabeli replied to esomabeli's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Thanks for the tips. Like I said, this is my first, and tips would really help. Yeah, the helix is a prefab. And those brake sections were meant to be trims, but I just realized that trims need to be straight. WHOOPS!!! -
Yup. It's the Dragon! And it's my first NL coaster. It's an Arrow corkscrew with a loop and a corkscrew. Yes, I know, I'm boring, but it's much easier to make a simple coaster then to try making a complex one on your first try. No just a drop and two inversions. Enjoy! PS: I know there are red g-spikes. They suck. I think any NL designer would agree with me. Will upload pic ASAP! Dragon.nltrack THE DRAGON!!! it's an arrow corkscrew...with one corkscrew...er...and a loop...and a helix...and yeah...

...you gotta be kiding me When every one of these coasters came out it WAS the biggest and the best. There not gonna tear down a new coaster everytime something bigger comes out. People are so unappreciative of the incredible rides at this park it blows my mind You said it exactly! When they came out they where the biggest and best of there kind but, all there rides have been one up since then. Does the park have an awesome amount of coasters? Yes! Are they the best in the world? NO! Now about Maverick, if the ride turns out just like that concept picture, themeing and all, it looks to be a great ride. I just hope its official. Just because they're not the "best in the world" (IYO, I might add) doesn't mean they're not good rides. A lot of people on this forum and many others like MF a lot, and even Magnum still. I know many people who would swear to you they like Raptor more than the Batman clones, and Mantis better than Riddlers. It's a matter of opinion. In MY humble opinion, I think we should be thankful to cedar point for in a lot of situations being brave enough to stick their heads out and build something new. Building prototypes is never a gurantee that you will have the "best in the world" but at least it proves the technology and the public's response to it to allow others to refine the design. I mean think about it, they broke 200', 300', and 400'. As a coaster riding group we should be thankful to them, because it shows that the other parks were content with just building another coaster. Cedar Point played a big part of the so-called "Coaster wars" in the 80's-today. Whatever this ride is, I think you will see at least something new with it, as that's their style. Even if what's new seems lame at first (say, twists on BOTH towers on WT), it still makes for a ride unique to the country if not the world (at least until the next one's built). As mentioned before, be thankful they're building a new coaster at all, because by most amusement park's standards, they have PLENTY. The GP would be happy to ride MF, TTD, Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, and all their other coasters for years to come. They don't depend on coaster-enthusiasts for money, and obviously they did pretty well (they bought the paramount parks didn't they?). I for one am just happy to see a coaster and not another giant flat which is what I thought might be coming for a couple years. -James Dillaman THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. Look, if it's an aquatrax, cool. If it isn't, cool. In fact, I'll be happy with what they choose to build as LONG AS THE SOLE PURPOSE OF THE RIDE IS NOT to break records. Unless the ride is good. I didn't enjoy TTD or MF. (In fact, I liked Magnum the most. It has a lot of airtime, and the roughness was kind to me.) One of the best rides at CP is Raptor - smooth, but still very, very, very enjoyable. And Blue Streak. I love that little coaster. Off topic: This is my first post! Oh, by the way, I skipped about 40 pages of the topic just because I was sick of listening to "Aquatrack? Wingwalker! Aquatrack? Wingwalker! Aquatrack? Wingwalker!" So I probably missed something important! *gasp*
