  1. The Bay Beach amusement park is a very small family park that was opened in the late 1800's in the history of the park there have been two coasters in the past but one was torn down in and replaced in 1929 and the second was torn down in 1936 due to interesting reasons. What is interesitng to note about this park is that it is run by the city's park and rec department. They have recently announced a master plan that includes a roller coaster, a new ferris wheel and a land expansion. The park is located on Green Bay's North side near the mouth of the Fox river to the Bay of Green Bay. These plans are not finalized and still have to be approved by city council members. The goal is to increase tourism to the city. There is no ultimate timeline for the project.
  2. although not the greatest coaster in the world i am gonna have to throw my vote in for Superman Ultimate Flight. On the final turn just before the zero g roll when you come right by one of the supports by the lift hill. Gets me everytime cause you don't see the huge pole coming. About as good a headchopper can get on steel.
  3. I am going to have to throw a vote in for the now defunct Shockwave at SFGAm. As for existing coasters, that i have ridden i am going to have to vote for Canyon Blaster at Circus Circus
  4. Here is my speculation: I just visited the park yesterday and was kinda scoping out where the hell they are going to put this thing. If the roumors are true they are Keeping the theater. This is going to be very hard to do. If they do i would not be surprised if the exit to SUF is modified as well as removal of the gift shop. I think that putting the ride in the space should be no problem, but there is no space at all for a the line. From seeing the site in person i would not be surprised to see the theater gone next season.
  5. I was there yesterday and i thought they did a really good job. All the rides were running well. Ops were moving the lines pretty good and the fright touches were well done throughout the park. There were not any areas that they just completely didn't touch. It was lots of fun. I could have done without the hot and humid weather considering it is october.
  6. i know this is just speculation but i really would like to see it happen. Personaly i would like to see the speculated Dive Machine go in where the aging loggers run and Yankee clipper are. These are 2 basically identical attractions that take up a very sizable footprint. To be honest i haven't ridden either of these in at least 10 years. Not to mention if you look at Shiekra's footprint it is very simular to what these two attractions take up. Then again maybe this is just me hoping that they somehow save Deja Vu. Either way i think The dark knight coaster is will need to be seen to make a fair judgement on it and adding anything at this point is good. Especially not another kiddie area.
  7. Alien Encounter (pre lamewad stitch version) on opening preview day by chance Renegade Viper
  8. i have 2 Working at a Quick service food and beverage at the Grand floridian Resort: "How big is a 16 inch pizza" (i did actually tell a drunk guy that it was 16 inches once) waiting for the front of the Demon at SFGam, the person speaking only had a few teeth left, "one time in the middle of the ride my wife's restraint came undone and she held it tight so she wouldn't fall out in the loops"
  9. I am surprised that no one has thrown this one into the mix. But the Tower of Terror at Disney MGM always kicks my stomack into high gear. Just the fact that you never know when it is going to drop or how many times and the fact that sometimes you don't know whether you are going up or down at times coupled with the times that you can't see where you are and then change directions when you finally orient where you are in the tower. It pretty much kicks any standard free tower's butt
  10. I think we all think that it is weird that they are putting in another mouse. However when you stop to think about it they are going to be completely different leagues. 1. This is an indoor themed mouse 2. It IS NOT a spinning mouse. If you just think about those two differences you can see that they can coexist in the same park. Personally I think the ball is in Six Flags' hand. It all depends on how well they theme it. They have the Opportunity to set this attraction apart from everything they have done up to this point. They have the ability to invest the money and theme it to the disney point. It would be great to see it happen. Or laugh at them when they don't take it far enough.
  11. I am glad to see something happening in the park that is NOT a kiddy area or water park ride. This also still leaves room for the roumor of a B&M Dive coaster to go in the Deja Vu/Splashwater falls area in 09!!!!
  12. I don't know for sure which was first but i know it was one of the following from the same visit to SFGam: The Whizzer The Demon American Eagle Tidal Wave could not have been older then 5 or 6
  13. Here is a still Photo from a Newscast fromt The Cities about the Phase II expansion of the mall. THere is a model shown of the Euro-Fighter
  14. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I did understand that the press release that i found was an early one but i had not seen any for sure announcements that the Euro-Fighter would be spongebob. That definately clears it up for me instead of just saying that i am wrong. I like to be proven wrong. Thank you KGA29
  15. Where has all the speculation that hte Eurofighter is going to be spongebob? Is it not so obvious even from the press realease that it is going to be Avatar themed?. http://info.theparkatmoa.com/InsidePark/Press%20Release.htm This is what it says: "Though the majority of the creative elements are in development, including the official name of the new park, one of the first rides to be introduced in the park is a roller coaster based the animated Nick series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Located in the northwest corner of the park, the “Avatar Airbender” will be the park’s first upside down roller coaster. Construction is expected to begin in 2007. " To me Press Releases are a better source of solid information then newspaper articles
  16. Lou:" I thought the neck would be a lot longer. I like them long." Richard "Hmmmmm... I am in like Flint!"
  17. don't worry i do realize that it is their job to check the restraint. I just them better bouncing a lap bar then i do using straps and hooks and caribeeners that need to be sized different for each person.
  18. Being from Green Bay I saw coverage of this on my local news station. They barely finished with describing what happened before they were showing footage of the superman freefall tower at SFKK. Right when i saw what it was i thought to myself that it was a strange design but then thought what do i know. This type of ride never really interested me. Especially to pay extra to do it. I feel much safer with a 18 year old just acting like they check my restraint on a coaster. not harnessing me into a complicated mesh type harness. local Green Bay News coverage http://www.myfoxnewisconsin.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail;jsessionid=F068151584DC4ED3E9EB1DBB0B3C3596?contentId=3780839&version=6&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1&sflg=1 http://www.myfoxnewisconsin.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail?contentId=3783500&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1
  19. I was at SFGAm today and just got back. Over all it was a great day. I have to agree on the first drop airtime on the demon is amazing from the back seat. i wasn't expecting it and my knees litterally came to my chest. Not even exagerating. As for Deja Vu. It is a great ride if you can get on it. It is a guessing game with a lot of luck to see if the darn thing is running and if it is hope that the line does not last 2 hours. If you do get inline expect it to break down at least once during your wait. I got on it today after some luck when they reoppend the que late in the afternoon and happened to be able to get on the second run after open. Iron wolf however is another story. If you like to play human pinball using your head feel free to enjoy otherwise enjoy. I am sad to report that the first B&M is probabaly the worst and i will only ride if the line is under 20 min. Other then that have a great time to all the people on the midwest trip!!!!
  20. I must say those curves are quite sexy. I wish i could ride. I wonder how this one will compare to Renegade. I was REALLY shocked at how awsome that one was when i rode it last month. I can't wait to see a POV. Too bad Europe is not in the cards (at least for a while)
  21. It looks almost if you would really get the shaft if you end up in the middle seats. Kinda takes away from the whole floorless ideal. I liked the ride when it opened but it was far from the best in the park. I would still have to give that honor to Montu. Too bad i am no longer living in Orlando and now it is a 23 hour drive to get there from here!
  22. This coaster looks very interesting to me. I kinda like it. However i would like to see what Intamin does in the future with this type of design. It looks like they could do a lot of interesting things with this style. I like how it just kinda hangs you all out there.
  23. I think it was a very smart addtion for universal. Very good competition to Disney's Crique du Soleigh. I went to see their touring arena show when it stopped here in Green Bay. I Personally loved it. A warning to some though. THE SHOW IS BAZAAR. THere are going to be a few people that walk out of this show and be like "what the heck was that?" but i think it is the most fun anyone has ever had with the strange combo of marshmallows, pvc pipes and boat antennas[/img]
  24. I think this would be quite obvious to anyone who has read the book or seen the movies. Dueling Dragons will be retheamed. Anyone who says otherwise is just in denial at this point. I personally love the ride as it stands but things change. Anyway, If you have seen Harry Potter 4 you would remember a scene in which 4 students must do battle with 4 separate dragons. The part that harry fights his dragon he uses his broomstick and flys in and out and around the castle. Dueling Dragons just happens consist of a roller coaster that is centered around a large castle. It is also interesting to note that further and further you get into the books, the darker and darker they get. The first couple are light and cheery but once you get to 3 and after there are people dying, excicutions, murders and everything in it. To pass the Harry Potter Craze as a young childrens type thing is truly gross overgeneralization. I personally know more adults that read the books the children. I am pretty sure that teh current queue line for DD will become the Hogwarts Castle. It is just that obvious to me. I think everyone will enjoy the shops that will be built with the over the top theming. Read some of the books and you will know what i am talking about.
  25. When i First read about this the first thing that came to mind was : B&M Flying Coaster entitled Quiditch. There could be a lot done with that but then i realized that the dragons were already right there. It will be cool to start seeing some plans for this. Being a coasterdork and a Harry potter dork i am quite excited to see how this is all played out
