Penguin
Well, I had some vacation time last week so I decided to head down to Silver Dollar City for a couple of days with my fiance. We left on Wendesday (4/26) morning and arrived in Branson around 8am. After stopping to get something to eat we got to the park about an hour later. The parking lot was empty and it only took a few minutes to get our season passes done. We then headed on in and did some shopping. One thing that i really like about SDC is that if you show up early there is stuff to do. The World Fest was going on while we were there and they had a Master Yodeler from Austria in the main gazebo performing up until the opening ceremony. I can't say that I care for yodeling but this guy did some interesting yodels. Throughout the day there was also performances by the Zebra Stilt Walkers from Germany, the Zunyi Acrobats from China, the Moscow Circus, a bluegrass group from the Czech Republic and several others. On both days, there was very small crowds and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. All the rides were walk-ons so there were plenty of multiple rides We mainly rode Powderkeg and Wildfire, which were both running great. We ended both our days by checking out the newest addition to SDC called the Grand Exposition. This is a nicely themed area and has ten new rides including a family coaster. Now on to the pictures: The next fest coming to SDC These guys were very entertaining The Zebra Stilt Walkers from Germany were there for World Fest Fire in the Hole I have never seen SDC this empty, but I'm not complaining What would a ptr be without a vertical loop First lift hill as seen from the observation deck Wildfire entrance Wildfire Walkway to Powderkeg I love how this church is still used for services and weddings. Area in front of Park. Also this building is used in five episodes of the Beverly Hillbillies.

coastakid
The disko ride seemed bigger than it supposed to be..I know that there is an extra large disko, but the disk/cart on this one is so small??...
tracy
What a contrast from yesterday...We got a late start and at 10:00 the cars were backed up all the way to the Sheppard of the Hills entrance. We turned around & went to the outlet malls. At 1:00 we went back and actually found the car we were behind earlier about 1/4 mile from the trolley pick-up in the farthest parking lot (lot F?). We didn't even stop. One Memorial Day they said there were 50k in the park and it didn't seem as bad as SFOT on any given day, but we'd never seen it this packed so we found something else to do.
