As quoted from an article on www.coaster-net.com

After recent visits around many of the Six Flags parks in North America by Daniel Snyder, and the many rumours surrounding Six Flags America?s future, it looks like the park will not be opening for the 2007 season. Yesterday in a press release, Snyder announced that in order for the company to expand, there must be significant losses to Six Flags Inc.

Rumours have been flying for many weeks taken from various articles concerning whether the park will remain open in years to come, but it seems the parks statistics have fallen way below what was expected. The land Six Flags America sits on proved very valuable to the local area, and the land will be sold off for residential development. The rides will also be sold off for scrap metal, except for a few which may be relocated.

I really hope that this isn't true, and just to prove that I am not making this up, cause yeah, it is April Fool's Day, here's the link to the article:

I thought for sure that this was an April Fool's Day joke.

I am sorry that you are losing a park that you live near...

I'm sure a few key coasters, such as SROS, will be sold to other parks or placed elsewhere in the chain.

Considering today IS April Fools Day, and there is usually not press releases done on a Saturday, I'm saying this is an attempt at a joke. Especially since the "Press Release" has not been um, released. SFA will still be there in 2007, and may even get a new coaster by then, well an old coaster reassembled.
