XLRBR Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I have ALWAYS been wondering, how exactly do you make a video? I mean, I know how to shoot them and stuff, but how do you add music and edit it and junk? --Davon "just wondering" Dorsey
robbalvey Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Wow...that's a lot to answer. I'm not sure if it's something you can just type a couple of sentances to answer. You need to use the right editing software, and it's something you just have to have an 'eye' for. Not everyone can be a video editor. But here's a couple of links to get you started: http://desktopvideo.about.com/od/editing/
coasters 4 me Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I have always wanted to do that. But i tried Windows Movie Maker. Downloading videos and putting my favourite pieces onto one video. But i wouldnt put it on the internet.
XLRBR Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 Thanks Robb. That does kind of help me. But it'd be kinda hard to do all that A-B stuff in one day, especially if you were shooting a theme park video. But any other video would be fine. How exactly do you do it? Do you shoot all of your footage in one day, or over a period of days? --Davon "I'm dying to know" Dorsey
CoasterFanatic Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 If you think that editing is hard. Try learning on one of these. I still got box full of Betamax and 3/4" tapes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21166&item=7502001784&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=21168&item=7502061736&rd=1

If I'm only at a park one day, then I only shoot that day. On average, I only shoot about 30-45 minutes of raw footage per segment that ends up on the DVDs. I think it's almost impossible to quantify how it's done in one post. What you need to do is research how video editing is done, then come back and ask some more specific questions. --Robb
