martinb Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 This time it's Pleasurewood Hills, a little family theme park on the east coast, recently been bought by Grevin & Cie who also own a few other parks through-out Europe and they claim that they will 're-launch' the park, well so far they have, they spent £2million in their 1st season in charge on just maintaining the park, re-painting all the coasters and all new restaraunts, and for this (2006) season they have already added a 3D Boat ride, but they had hope to get The Missile (Vekoma Boomerang) from the American Adventure but local residents have (so far) stopped that plan! It's a shame because it would be such a big ride for the little park(which has never a looping coaster), but they are appealing against it and if it fails they will try to get it in another area of the park! I thought it might be worth mentioning as you lot are heading to Pleasurewood Hills in June! Poor little park , I hate people who live near theme parks
Astat Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 It's always been my opinion that if it isn't on your property, you shouldn't be able to do anything about it.
martinb Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 ^ Well said! This park also wanted to open later in the summer but I wonder who stopped that from happening?
verticalzero Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Is the park very close to people's houses..? as the park will have a big fight trying to get a Bomerang installed. The park could go for a Woodie like "Falken" as this only 66ft high with loads of (never been on it myself but the reports have been good). The Parks will always have people who moan about noise etc, this will become more popular as of the Alton Towers problems last year
martinb Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 Yes there are housesnear by, but the strange thing is that the park has had taller rides: Eye in the Sky 140ft & Mega Drop 120ft and it currently has a ride that is louder than a Boomerang!
