Im going to the SA stock show and rodeo to get some POV's of the carnivale rides there. But I don't have a fire wire plug on my camcorder. Is there any way that I can get the videos from the camera onto my computer?

Open to criticism.

Not the same really .. go to Best buy or Circuit City and buy a PCI Firewire adapter. There is no other way to capture DV video off a miniDV/Digital8 camera.

USB MAY work .. but the quailty will suffer and the speeds aren't fast enough for capture.

Actually, you can't say the other thread is wrong either. There's no mention of what type of camera he has. Don't assume all of us are using miniDV/Digital 8 cameras.

No firewire. Probably older camera (like me), USB will work.

Enough of this tomfoolery. We're going to confuse the poor guy.

Just buy a capture card. I'm sure your camcorder has AV outputs on it, you should be able to capture, edit, burn, etc. You can get the Pinnacle Studio 10 with PCI capture card, I think they sell for probably around $100
