ParkTrips Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Alright here's the deal.. I'm headed to Texas next May with my mom and most likely my girlfriend (or some other friend who wants to mooch another trip off of me yet again) for about 2 weeks in the middle of the month. We were thinking about visiting the Schlitterbahns in Galveston and New Braunfels. I know I can't ask about the one in Galveston, but will the one in New Braunfels be open daily at that point? Also, they are pretty good moving crowds and such, correct? We were also looking at doing the parks in San Antonio as well, and though the schedule isn't up last year Fiesta was opened Friday through Sunday at that point. I would assume Friday or Sunday would be the best options... is either typically lighter than the other? How are crowds around that time of year? Same with Sea World, we would probably be stuck going on a Saturday regarless of what day we hit Fiesta, I just want to know if it's anything unbearable (juding by the time of year and the nature of the park, I would gues not but I just want to hear from someone else) Heading up to Arlington is a thought too, and since they are in their daily operations at that point I'd imagine we'd do a weekday trip. Again, crowds shouldn't be a factor, correct? Also, are there any little parks in the Dallas, San Antonio, Austin or even Houston areas that might be of interest? I'm already planning on going back to Kemah for an afternoon and then Astrowo.. oh wait, sorry. Anyhow thanks in advance for any tips and the like.
ScOtT k Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Seaworld shouldn't get crowded for you. I went to sea world san antonio on about a year ago and only 8,000 people were in the whole park!
ParkTrips Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 *bump* sorry I was just wondering if anyone should answer my questions or if I'd be better off asking my penis...
SharkTums Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Schlitterbahn is NOT that efficient at the new sections. Make sure to be there before opening and run right to Master Blaster. It easily gets hour+ lines. I would do all of the new stuff before heading to the older area. The old tube shoots pump through many more people. If you're interested in doing the surfing attraction that also gets really long lines. Right near the surfing is 'backsplash' ( I think that's the name!). Don't miss it!!! It may not be a 'real' slide, but it was all of our favorite attraction in both parks!!!! As for the SF parks, you know the deal. There really aren't any 'small' parks anywhere nearby. If you want to do a SCAD tower there's one about 40min from SFoT.
Guest Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I don't know, is this a credit? http://www.rcdb.com/ig690.htm?picture=2 Seriously though, if you are into Skycoasters and the like there is a place in Dallas called Zero Gravity http://www.gojump.com/ and it's right behind SpeedZone http://www.speedzone.com/ if you like such things. Hope this helps a little...
astroworldfan Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 If you dont care, dont stay downtown in San Antonio. price is much higher than elsewhere There is also SplashTown (Six Flags) in Spring on the north side of Houston.
