Hercules Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 The Hershey Entgertainment & Resorts will close Parkview golf course due to their need for expansion of Hersheypark and their resorts. The extra land will be used to help expansion as well as traffic and parking problems. The site is about 130 acres. That is too bad because I was planning on playing on that next summer Good to see that they are expanding though. Getting into the park from that side can be very hard sometimes.
DRWP2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Well I have conflicting feelings about this because I enjoy golfing, and its sad to hear about the closing of a golf course. But I guess its also good that they plan on using it for expansion.
Dailey Enterprizes Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Golfing can be an expensive hobby. Then again, so is visiting amusement parks, so I guess it really doesn't matter for me because one way or another, I'm loosing money! :?
DRWP2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 ^ Well I do both, so I'm losing it twice as fast
Hercules Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 I do bother too, but I get free golf Ahhh, the power of having the majority of my high school's golf records and being the captain of my college team
DRWP2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Yea I can golf for free too, but only at courses that are owned by the government, because I work for them. And I get tired of playing the same place all the time so I go elsewhere.
CoasterEricHP Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Apparently Fairview is no where near as good as the other course where the country club is.. I wouldnt know though thats just what I hear.. I recommend the mini golf at Adventure Sports Anyways, 130 acres is a hugeeee amount of land. Even if they only use half of that for park expansion it's still a nice chunk. I would think they'd use some for widening the road behind the parking lot, and adding a new lot. Then they could use the area closer to the park for an expansion of some type. The township hates the idea of water so I wouldnt expect it to be water related.. Maybe a new resort? Here's a map courtesy of Google Earth: Lots of room!
