mariabailey Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 7 Things you should never vacuum up if you want your vacuum cleaner to live longer Have you ever bought one of the highest rated vacuum cleaners and put it out of commission shortly after? You try everything but it keeps on happening again and again and you still have no idea what causes it. Well, one of the most common reasons is the things you use your Best Vacuum Cleaner to clean up are not meant to be. 1. Broken glasses Regardless of the size of the chips or pieces of glass, they’re obviously very sharp. And with most modern vacuum cleaners, particularly those that use a rotating head on them, the actual hose has an electrical circuit in it. Therefore, the sharp glass can cause damage to that, creating an electrical shock hazard as well as damaging the hose to the point where replacing it becomes very expensive. Not to mention the sharp edge can tear the vacuum bag and damage your vacuum’s interior furniture. 2. Small sharp objects Another common item that we suggest you don’t use your vacuum for is something like thumb tacks , push pins or any of those small sharp objects like that. If you’re using a beater bar type of attachment, sharp things like that can cause damage to those bars. So for small objects, they’re sure to cause huge damage for even The Best Vacuum Cleaner brand. 3. Hair When human hair or pet hair is sucked up, it can quickly clog up the filter and alleviate the suction power, especially the one with the rotating bar that is so easy to tighten up by the hair to the point you have to disassemble the parts. We don’t say that you shouldn’t vacuum up hair, just don’t vacuum large amounts of it at once and you should empty the dust canister regularly to prevent it from clogging the dust canister and the filter. 4. Fine dust It may sound crazy regarding the fact that vacuum cleaner is use to pick up dust, but for dust like drywall dust, fine saw dust, flour, baby power or any other very fine dust, unless you’re using the HEPA filter feature, those particles can pass through most filters and get back into the room air. 5. Fire ash Firstly, the fire ash is a fire hazard because it may still be hot so you definitely want to let it cool before you attempt to clean it up. Secondly, the ash is really fine and again, it may pass through your filters. 6. Liquids Although it’s very tempting to grab your vacuum when you slip your spaghetti dish over, it is not a good idea. Once you introduce liquid into your vacuum cleaner, it will coat the inside of the hoses, the filters, your canister and could eventually turn into mold which then becomes a health hazard. 7. Shredded paper Shredded paper, especially leftover cellophane and confetti paper after you are done with your craft work is hard to sweep away and vacuuming it up seems like a smart choice without knowing the fact that it can melt under high temperature and clog up the filter. Once it’s happened, you don’t have any other choice than to go to the store and buy a new one. LAST FEW WORDS While it’s tempting to use your vacuum to clean up all your spills and messes, something is just not meant to be vacuumed. Not only does it isn’t effective but it can also damage your vacuum cleaner and shorten its lifespan, even for the Best Rated Vacuum Cleaners in the world.
bert425 Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 how is this your 1st post, if you have done the things you talk about in the above post? were you someone else before and rejoined as a new account? I come here, because I really like many (actually most) of the people who post in the messageboards/forums, and I consider them an extended/online family. I like seeing pictures of people I've met, and those I enjoy chatting with on the boards. Be it about Theme Parks, shows, music, or just about anything.
thrillseeker4552 Posted May 18, 2020 Posted May 18, 2020 how is this your 1st post, if you have done the things you talk about in the above post? I was thinking the exact same thing. Regardless, I am on here because I enjoy it! Simple as that. The people on here are great, the content is top notch, and it is pretty much the only consistently active theme park forum. It has a different feel than social media, and that's a good thing. I joined when I was 13 and, despite making some cringey posts as a 13-year-old, I find it cool that I have over 7 years worth of reflection on my thoughts and opinions of industry news. I like to think that the growth from 13 to (almost) 21 is quite significant, and this is the only place on the internet where I've been able to talk about coasters so freely, in detail, and interact with other dorks like me! That's why. I hope the forum stays around for a long time. As long as it's here, I'll keep posting!
