Pirate
June 2nd, 1981: Barry Konger "This thing called an 'amusing park' opened 20 minutes away from me in Yarke Forest, two months ago. My friends were talking about it, speaking of something called a 'rolley coater'. I have no idea what that is. Then they start rambling about a 'Stereo Madness' and a 'Back on Track' thing. WHAT IS THAT?! Sounds like a DJ song! Then they told me it is. Assuming this 'amusement park' thing is a permanent concert, I said "I'll pass, I'm not interested" but then they ended up persuading me to visit it. Whatever it is, I'll go. Because if I don't, my friends will whine at me every other second about it. I visited that park and I saw some weird structure things. I thought to myself "this is an amuse park?" and I walked through the entrance... They gave me a park map: I like the weird structures. So, 1 and 2 is a squiggle with sticks coming from them. 3 is a roundabout. 4 is a band stand. 5 is an ice cream. 6 is another band stand. 7 is a restaurant and 8/9 is where I got the map from. Entrance. It looks weird, but I like it. It looks weird, but I like it! The pink structure is the entrance to a thing called Brain Spinner. Might try that out soon. Starting to understand... I think I know what's going on! The Back on Track is a thing where you sit in the logs in the station. It then gets powered around the course! What a great idea! Also, I noticed that it's not an ice cream, it's a ride where people stand by the wall and are spun around. How do they not fall out, then? Hmmm... Fun! I tried out Brain Spinner. You get put in pods and you're spun around. So fast, you're pinned to your seats and flown upside down! It's so insane and I felt really dizzy afterwards. It's a good ride. Stereo Madness Stereo Madness is an interesting train ride that goes twice around the circle-shaped track. It's a bit slow, but it gets slightly faster when it goes downhill. It mainly stays at around the same speed. Interesting... Mayhem is the ice cream I was talking about. You stand in a circle and a U shaped bar is pulled over your head and pushed onto your chest. When the ride started, a voice said "Welcome to Mayhem. Hold onto the shoulder bars and have fun..." I guess that's what they're for. There were also C shaped bars to either side of you. You get spun around extremely fast, like Brain Spinner. You're then lifted up, like Brain Spinner again. I found Brain Spinner to be more fun because I kept bashing my head on the U bar. Painful! Not the best start to a ride, isn't it? Crowded... Rotor Restaurant is a very crowded place. I had to wait forever for food and drink, but DAMN is it good! Good to see that they know about the crowd issues and plan to add more food outlets in the future. *is sick* Rotor is an insane ride. The starting process is a member of staff telling people what would happen. "The Rotor is an interesting ride where you will be stuck to the wall without a floor." (member of staff spaces out guests) "You will be pushed up this wall by this floor when I leave. Stay in your spot at all times. You will then be spun to an incredible speed. So fast, you will be pinned to the wall and the floor will be lowered. Because of the G forces, you will be stuck to the wall even when the floor is lowered, creating a zero-gravity sensation. If you would like the ride to be stopped, please shout 'Stop' and we will end the ride for you." It did exactly that. It was very impressive! But the ride KILLED me. I felt so sick, I went to a small tracked ride: Back on Track. Back on Track It actually made me feel less sick! Back on Track wasn't like Stereo Madness, it wasn't powered throughout the entire ride. However, it was powered up the first hill. It needs to get its speed from somewhere, eh? Geometry Carousel The last ride was Geometry Carousel, a nice ending to the day before a bit more food and drink from Rotor Restaurant. You rode model horses and used the stick as a bar to hold on to. A great ride for the family. Geometry Kingdom was a great amusement park and it was awesome for my first visit to one of these places. I've heard of other places like these, but I might stick to this one as it's the closest... I hope you liked my first time at an amusement park and I hope to come back soon!"
