The Angry Darren Mullins
I just traveled for the holiday here in China. I visited the city of Luohe and had a short stopover in Wuhan to visit parks. Luohe: Peoples Park-This park made headlines some time ago for having the worst zoo in the world. I made sure to visit the zoo and was somewhat sad to find that the zoo had cleaned up its act. You can read more about it from the following link: http://www.ibtimes.com/barking-lion-china-zoo-passes-dog-african-lion-photos-1386813 Back to the park, there are some rides here. There are two coasters, but the park is not on RCDB. The mouse coaster was a bit fun for what it was. The kiddie coaster is based on a Golden Horse design, but it was not from Golden Horse and was a bit longer. I rode both coasters, visited the zoo and went to the next park. Shenzhou Birds Park-This park is somewhat new, but that hasn't stopped the owners from revamping the park. There are two coasters here. Angry Birds is a spinning mouse coaster and is similar to the Golden Horse spinners, but it is not by Golden Horse. It is total crap. A Wacky Worm is here, but it is being moved to a new location in the park. It was up by the front gate, but is being moved to a location near Angry Birds. There is a huge Ferris wheel here. Many of the rides are are being moved and new rides are being built. This will be a fun place in about six months or so. This park is not on RCDB. Xiangchewan Amusement Park-This place is located on the western outskirts of the city and closed sometime ago. There are two coasters here that are SBNO. Wuhan: Zhongshan Park: I had been to this park before, but I stopped in for a short while to ride the Moto Roller Coaster. It is a very nice park. It has its own stop on the Wuhan metro system. Dijiao Park: This park is about a 30 minute metro ride from Zhongshan Park and is next to Dijiao station. There is a small powered coaster called Golden Dragon Roller Coaster. I rode it and then left. This completed my trip. I have now ridden 961 coasters and I have found 281 coasters before ACE or RCDB could find them. Here is the entrance of Luohe Peoples Park. My first park of the trip. This is just inside. There are monkeys here. There are also rides here. Boo!!!!!!!!!! A little kiddie coaster is here. It looks like a Golden Horse ride but it is not. It is a bit slow. A mouse coaster is here. I like the cars on this coaster. Here is the mouse in action. A short cab ride took me to Shenzhou Birds Park. There is a nice lake here. There is a giant Ferris wheel at this park. A Wacky Worm is here. It is being relocated to a new area in the park. The relocation is nearly complete. They are repainting it. Angry Birds!!!!!! It looks like a Golden Horse design but it is not. Here is one side of it. Here it is in action. I went to Xiangchenwan Park next, but it was closed. I made a short visit to Zhongshan Park in Wuhan to ride Moto Roller Coaster. It is a fun ride. Dijiao park and Golden Dragon Roller Coaster was next. It should be called Red Dragon Roller Coaster. It is a typical powered coaster. Here is an on ride action shot to finish the TR.
gisco
Do you feel a little out of place riding a kiddie coaster by yourself?
The Angry Darren Mullins
That is a good question. Sometimes I do. The sad thing is that most Chinese people can't afford a big roller coaster. That is why China is infested with mice coasters and kiddie coasters. I simply enjoy the parks and coasters for what they are.
