^lol!

I hope it opens soon, though according to disneyland.com it's going to be closed still on Jan. 31 (the calendar wouldn't go any farther than that on my computer). I don't know if that's right though.

Why would they open the ride on a Sunday?

I don't know when it will open. It probably won't be this weekend, as much as I would like it to be. But I can't see the ride being closed for the busy Christmas season.

California Screaming is one of the best coasters in California, I'd hate to see it down that long!

As much as I think Screamin' is a great coaster. I would go to CA Adventure without it. It's nice to have, but at the end of the day it's just a coaster.. and that park is about so much more. You don't go to a Disney park just because they have a great coaster, you go for the whole experience. The detail and "magic" they put into each ride is worth more to me than any airtime. I'm just as happy seeing the Bugs Life show as I would be on Screamin'. If they need the extra time to make it safe, so be it.

I really hope it opens before July, I really want to ride it, and it's the ride that gave Cali the edge over FL for me... so I really hope that it opens before then :? .

I hope it is open when I go on Oct 18, but if it is not, it won't be that big of a deal.

A conference that I am attending is buying out DCA for the night on the 18th so there will probably just be a few thousand people in the park.

Disney will then need to show compliance with the requirements of the report. Disney knows what will be required (though executive review could change them) so it is possible that once the report is issued they will be ready to immediately seek sign-off on the attraction reopening. The odds of these final steps taking place today (so that the ride could open tomorrow) are pretty unlikely. He wouldn't give an estimate of when the report will be done since that would make presumptions about what would happen in the reviews. My sense was that, even if it all goes smoothly we're still at least a week out from the report's completion though easily longer than that.

He also said that it was possible for Cal-DOSH to sign off on the ride reopening before the report is complete (and this is more common in minor incidents), but that it in this case it was really unlikely.

So, yes it is possible the ride will be open tomorrow, but I wouldn't encourage anybody to go to the park in hopes that it will be.

That's probably more crowded than DCA normally is...
