RCT3Bross
Hello, I'm planning a trip towards South Germany this summer because I want to visit Holiday park now they opened up Sky Scream and I haven't done Expedition GeForce yet. Nou to go all the way for 1 park I'm not okay with that, I've been looking and 2 parks stand out that I wish to give a shot, Simple question: wich do you recommend? A) Erlebnispark Tripsdrill. (Personally leaning towards here, but is it indeed better?) B) Skyline park. (Wich is 2 hours further, is that worth the fuel?) C) None of the above, Try ... (With C please don't say Europa Park, I know it's close by but I have a Girlfriend who's not coming along and I promised my next visit she's in.) I kinda gave my own opinion, but I just wondered if people on TPR are indeed behind me or point to something better.
flotus
I visited both in 2013 and I think Tripsdrill is the better park. Tripsdrill is located in a very nice area and has better themeing. Skyline park is missing some themeing and at least parts of it are very new and nature needs time there to "fill it". Since the main attraction of Skyline park is "Sky Wheel" which is basically the same as "Sky Scream" in HP (but without the loop) there is not that much speaking for Skyline park. (Although they do have a free Slingshot) Both parks are not huge, so doing both on 1 day might be an option. Skyline park has a good train connection to Munich (1:10h), so if you ever get to Munich you can do that park easily from there. In the area are also Schwaben park and Legoland but I can't say much about them. Phantasialand should be on your way as well, but you're probably aware of that already. Not sure what you're interested in, but there might be other things to visit, like a few minutes from Holiday park: https://www.google.com/search?q=speyer+technikmuseum&tbm=isch&sa=X&biw=1836&bih=1105 http://speyer.technik-museum.de/
RCT3Bross
^ Thanks for your reply. I was kinda doubting going towards Tripsdrill but that's pretty much gone now. I'm not intending doing both parks in one day, I'm not that type of guy. I know of course Phantasialand is on the route but been there already this year and although I like the park and the theming the price is kinda high to go 2 times. Thanks for looking at other interesting activities in the area, but I'm a total Coaster-Enthusiast and mostly have eye for that.
Dacorian
I often go on vacation in southern Germany because this side of Germany has always been a pleasant experience. Tripsdrill is a nice park with tipical german atmosphere and some nice attractions. But I myself am not a fan because of the limited hours that attractions stay open. But I think people from far away would enjoy Tripsdrill more than me. Really ...A bathtub boat ride with naked ladies as a backdrop ... what more could you want? Holiday Park is a lovely park in the theme of Maya and Wicky the viking, famous German cartoon figures. I'm been there two weeks ago and this park has some real good rides...Sky scream is not bad at all. Oh, and the darkride has naked ladies too. I can further recommend to search for Alpine coasters. Southern Germany has some extremely good Alpine coasters approximately three kilometers long. These are located in the high mountains of Germany and the Black Forest. You will find the adress when you look it up on google. But southern Germany thas more than only this...let me give you a small list from parks who are worth a visit. - Europa park - Bayern park - Skyline park - Legoland Deutschland - Freizeitpark Klotten - Freizeitpark Geiselwind - Schwaben park - Steinwasen Park - Lots of Alpine coasters. Good thing my girlfriend isn't coming along. On serious note, what did you mean with the limited hours attractions stay open? (I'm curious because I intend to ride all three coasters.) I think I'll keep it with Tripsdrill though, I got a limited time and budget and like to add up my credits. Thanks for tips but yeah most of them have only 1 or 2 ride credits (Visited Europa park in 2010) when leaving the kiddies out (I don't ride the kiddies thats why I leave them out. )
SharkTums
My vote would be for Tripsdrill or Klotten based on what you've said. Skyline is not worth the additional hours driving.
