Well did we have a great day today! After a terrible night of CRAZY rain, we woke up to clear blue skies and the yearning for thrills! Drove from Long Island hitting absolutely NO traffic. Showed up to Six Flags New England at 9:45, walked into the park and sat down on a bench waiting for the ropes to drop. Watching for a test run of Goliath.

Unfortunately, we saw Goliath had maintenance men working above the track in the station, so before the rope dropped, we walked to the other side and went for Batman. Showed up and they were just finishing their morning tests. Walked on for one ride in the front and one in the back. Standard rides, nothing to report other than some wholesome fun!

We then walked over to Bizzaro and got two rides in there, again front and back (notice a pattern happening? Good.). It's running great, the music sounded amazing on our first ride, but the second it was completely dead. Also, the flame throwers are gone, just two towers with nothing on top.

We then walked over to Thunderbolt. It was still not open, but the ride operator said they had about ten more minutes left in their morning routine, so we went for some French fries and returned. This thing is running great so far this year, and the recent paint job makes it stand out nicely.

We walked over to Sky Screamer not planning on getting a ride, because we thought the line would be insane. Luckily the line was quite short, and we got right on after two rotations. It's a great ride, the thrill of being that high up in nothing but a chain connect seat is, well, terrifying if you start to think about it while your up there... Which, is basically impossible

Cyclone was running its trains, but never opened while we were in the park. I wanted to get on it one more time before it (possibly/hopefully) gets some RMC love. Oh well!

We walked over to Déjà Vu (I mean Goliath) and got a station wait. I must admit, this is one of the most terrifying rides to wait for and I have been on countless roller coasters. Something between the enormous size of it from the front of the park, this loudness of the track as the train goes by, and the screams of the people on those towers just makes the anticipation amazing. We lucked out with the front row seat, which had screams and thrills to boot! Great ride! We did not feel any rattle or shaking on the forward trip, but on the return, the loop and second half of the cobra roll gave quite a shake...

At this point, we tried to go ride bizarro one more time. Unfortunately, there was a line out of the first switch back, and it was down. We walked back over to Goliath, bought a large bag of kettle corn and left for the day. Right after we took the standard picture everyone has to take...

We drove the hour to Lake Compounce, and arrived to find the most wonderful thing happening in the park today! A local foster care program was running a day where people could come and bring foster children to play in the park for an entire day. To see that many little kids having such a great time was a beautiful site.

We sat down and had pulled pork for lunch, and then got online for Boulder Dash. They were only running one train, but the ride operators were making it a great time while you waited in the station. I must admit, this is one of the most fun rides I have ever been on! I giggled like a little schoolgirl the entire ride out, and on the return those arms were up in the air having the time of our life. We lucked out with a front row seat on our first ride!

We walked over and rode the Wildcat, which was quite smooth except for the first turnaround. The turnaround near the station has completely been rebuildt and was quite smooth. We then got funnel cake, and walked to the sky ride. Had a wonderful time on our 20 minute journey, watching waterfalls and rivers, and laughing at kids on the other side who were afraid of the height. Also, it was quite entertaining to ask the ride operator at the top any question we wanted. He was quite entertaining and clearly loved his job; something that is always nice to see. The view was magnificent!!

We then rode the trolley back to the main section of the park, and went for a ride on Lightning and Thunder. Standard S&S ride, quite entertaining and fun to see kids ride their first big flat ride. We then walked back to Boulder Dash, And got one more ride in there on the back row. What a great way to end our roller coasting for one day!

After that, we walked back to the front of the park had a glass of soda (of course) and hit the road. We stopped in New Haven CT at Delaney's Restaurant & Tap Room for a Berger and a beer. Highly recommend it for anyone traveling back towards NYC. Overall a great day, with great fun! Now, back to reality until June 10 for my Knobles, Hersheypark, Dorney Park trip!!

Thank you for the Trip report! Looks like an overall excellent day! It is awesome that Compounce does the foster kid day. I didn't know about that, but it makes me love that place even more!
