Ccron10 Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 (edited) Author's Notes: It's been awhile since I last posted a park (probably more than a year), but I really didn't want to post one unless I was sure that I would be able to finish it. Right as soon as the off-season began, I decided that I wanted to do a park that would be creative and kind of piggyback off of an existing movie and continue it on. This movie was Wall-E as it leaves the viewer wondering what happens when the characters return to Earth. Next, I needed to figure out a way to connect the movie to the concept of building a theme park. This is where the character, Charles, comes into play. He is the son of John and Mary from the movie with a big interest in history and theme parks of the past. 30 years after the planet's recolonization, he wants to start a company and bring back the amusement industry after over 700 years. Since I had so much fun building this park, I want to continue the story and build more parks to tie into it. I did manage to create some custom scenery objects for the park. The Wall-e and EVE characters are Sketch-up models that I downloaded and extensively modified to be imported into the game (pretty much all the faces on the objects were replaced to reduce the amount of polys) and will not be released for download. The original Wall-e model was created by Googlemeister and the orignial Eve model was created by TheNoel at Trimble 3D Warehouse. Hope you enjoy the park! ______________________________________________________________ It has been 30 years since the re-colonization of Earth and since then, much of the Earth has returned to it’s former state. Much of the debris has been cleaned up, the trees and flowers have returned and it has gotten cooler. Hi, I’m Charles. I was one of the first people born here. Ever since I was little, I’ve been fascinated with history and what people did for entertainment more than seven-hundred years ago. On my spare time, I love going through data files on theme parks from the 2000s and 1900s and wishing that I could’ve lived during that time. I wished that we still had something like that, but all of them were bought out or closed up towards the end of that century. With the technology that we have today, the time has come for this fun to return and I have some friends that are willing to help. Welcome to Next-Gen Gardens: the first in a line of parks set to re-introduce fun and theme parks under the EnviroPark Corporation name. As owner of the company, with the help of Wall-e and Eve, our companies’ goal is to expand throughout the re-colonized and re-growing Earth and provide new locations for people to have fun, learn about and from the past, so that the future is bright and clear. When we talk next, I take you on a tour through the park, talk about Next-Gen’s attractions, the history of the industry, and where does the company go from here. Welcome to Next-Generation (or Next-Gen, for short) Gardens Theme Park! Here is just a small portion of the skyline. The Lighthouse is pictured in the center. Here's a preview of what's to come. In the next update, you will start to get a look at the park's attractions. Stay tuned! Edited April 23, 2013 by Ccron10
the ghost Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 What an awesome concept! I saw the Eve model at the end and was like "That trashcan looks a lot like Eve from Wall-E" so I learned my lesson to read the "pre posted" stuff! But yeah, this is awesome and a VERY cool idea! Keep it up!
XYZ Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Looks great. I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like.
Ccron10 Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Very Wonder World-ish. Hope you finish this one! Believe it or not, the park is already done! I've had a history of not finishing parks in the past, but I wanted to wait until I finished it to start a thread for it and showcase it. Glad that this one succeeded in that.
6flagsbrad Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 This is by far the nicest rct3 park up right now, keep up the great work! Can't wait to see more.
Ccron10 Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Happy Earth Day! Hello again, I apologize that it has been awhile, but we had to make some changes around the park, but specifically to one coaster. To explain this, we'll have to take a look at some history of coasters over the past eight-hundred years. When I started figuring out the layout of Next-Generation gardens, I dove into the archives of many theme parks and companies of the past. One of the coaster designs I wanted to include in my park is the Multi Inversion Coaster model designed by company called Intamin AG, which was bought by Buy-N-Large in 2036 an it's name was changed to Intamin BnL. The coaster featured ten inversions and delivered an incredible ride, from what I read. I did some more digging and discovered the complete blueprints of the coaster model, then we got to work building the ride with the assistance of over 30 BUILD-E robots. After a time of two months, the coaster was up and testing, but the g-force results were so intense that even the test robots couldn't withstand the ride. We tried many different things, but nothing seemed to work so after a month, we decided to remove it and replace it with something designed from a company called B&M. From my research, B&M produced many high-quality coasters from 1990 to 2104 when the Earth was evacuated. BnL did purchase the company in the 2050's, but kept the name since it was similar to theirs. The end-result is a Mega Coaster type called Circuit. We designed the layout ourselves, going off of their blueprints for track-style and ride mechanisms. The track layout and loading station are completed, but we are currently constructing the gift shop, transfer area, and doing some work on the coaster supports. That's all I have for now! See you again soon! When we first built the Multi Inversion model, we wanted to make it interact with visitors as much as possible. Also, since the park is extremely considerate of the environment, we also made sure to include as many trees and shrubbery as possible. We also used highly efficient ride lights for at night as well. Towards the end of the ride, the train goes through a series of barrel rolls over the midway and between a pair of waterfalls. It also did two zero-g-rolls over the queue line as well. Unfortunately, the final barrel roll was the big issue for the coaster. It was unfortunate that we had to remove it, but it would be better to have a operating coaster instead of one just sitting around. So after one month, we removed it... ...and built a better one called Circuit. To get to the entrance, a new path had to be created. A gift shop and restrooms will be added along it as well. We also tried to remove as few trees as possible and re-use as much of the existing fencing and railings as possible. One of the things that hasn't changed is the idea of interaction with visitors on the midway. Are you wondering how I am able to get all these great aerial images? Here's your answer. EVE can also act similar to those helicopter flying cameras in the 2010's.
