Rastuso Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 So, I have one video, probably my worst one, closing in on 2 million views. I got an offer from Youtube to monetize, but I never did, since people say it's really not worth it. I do have a few more vids with thousands of views. Now, today I get an offer from Fullscreen to be in their viral database. Has anyone done this? I assume Robb is a full youtube partner, but obviously I don't get views like him. So, any small timers have any experience with trying to get money from Youtube? -R
Aceattack52 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 If you have a video with 2 million views on it, you need to monetize now! I only have about 20 videos monetized, and I only have like 10,000 total views on all of them combined, and I get about $1 in every month on Google AdSense. It may not seem like a lot, but it is money coming in. Of course, when you have a lot of views, then you will make a good amount of money. Really there's not much regaurding weather or not it's worth it; all you have to do is set up the AdSense with Google and link it to your YouTube channel. Once you have done that, that's it. You can sit back and watch the revenue come in. Of course, there is work involved if your videos never become popular or people lose interest in them. At that point, you will need to come up with new stuff for people to see, so you will be able to start earning money already. By the way, I am a small time YouTube user, I only post a few new videos every year and I am pretty sure I'm a partner.
J man Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 As long as you own all the rights to everything in your video (ex. visuals and music) you really should monetize it. I only have a few videos on my Youtube channel that are eligible to be monetized. Unfortunately most of them are also the videos with the least amount of views on my channel. I've only made like $2 off them over the last few years. Aceattack52 is right though. If you want to make some money on Youtube you need to keep coming up with new content for your viewers to watch. If you don't they will forget about you and stop watching. That is my issue, and why I don't have a bigger viewership. I don't post new videos often enough. I don't have any videos with view counts in the millions. So you have something very special there. Take advantage of it while you can and try to maintain those views.
