Theme Park Studio....

I posted the "announcement" here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64403

I would like you guys to give the dude some very "honest", but constructive feedback, because I think his game is going to need a lot of work. You can be blatantly honest if you want, but be "constructive!"

Like saying "The art needs a lot of work to be competitive with RCT3 or NoLimits" is totally acceptable, for example. Anyway, you guys are our games forum moderators, this is a chance to actually give some real input and encourage others to do so too!

So yeah...good idea.

I'm totally cool with us supporting this project, as it's a wonderful thing. It could very well become a "Minecraft for roller coaster geeks" if it works out the way it looks like it's planned to.

Maybe I should start playing RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 again to find things that I don't like about it...

EDIT: I'm going to be a cool guy here sometime this week when I get time and start compiling the suggestions in the thread into a list.

So.....

Looks like we may have an opportunity to get a bit involved with the production of this game. Not sure how it will all turn out, but I'm hoping the guy will listen to a few of us and make this game a solid #3 behind RCT and NoLimits.

I don't see it being perfect right out of the gate, and its going to need quite a beta test period.

The benefit for TPR helping is that if the game does well, and we are like an "extension" of the game, or even a content contributor, that could be really huge for us.

I know Steve doesn't have much experience with Social media or building a community, and it would be could to help him out if it gives us some exposure.

Besides, doesn't TPS come right after TPR in the dictionary anyway?

I'll keep you guys posted, but in the meantime, just be as helpful as possible in the thread.

Need help with something...

Steve is looking for other larger sites to help him get the word out. I want to recommend sites that coaster sites, theme park sites, and gaming sites. I also want to suggest ones that aren't run by "kids" and that would be willing to help, not be obnoxious.

The trouble is, there aren't many 'good' ones left! Any thoughts on this?

Shyguy and coastercrazy are both awful, same with Coasterforce and Coasterbuzz...

We've had some help from people like Orlando Attractions magazine who has quite a large Twitter and Facebook following.

Any ideas on decent sized coaster/theme park sites/forums/Twitters/Facebooks out there that would be good for him to contact?

I'd have to do some surfing to come up with a list (I won't have time to sit in front of my computer for a while until Tuesday), but one that comes to mind right now is Coaster-Net.

Ok, so now I really need the list...

Please post a link to any RCT, NoLimits, etc website that are currently active.

So far, the ones I've got are...

ShyGuysWorld

RCTLounge

CoasterCrazy

CoasterForce

Also, any other fairly active coaster or theme park sites would be helpful as well.

Thank you!

RCTgo - http://rctgo.com

New Element - http://www.nedesigns.com

NoLimits Exchange - http://nolimits-exchange.com

I believe that RCTgo is fairly new, and the other two are probably the premier RCT2 and NoLimits sites respectively.

Coaster-Net - http://www.coaster-net.com

ThrillNetwork - http://www.thrillnetwork.com/

NewElement and ShyGuysWorld are immensely popular because they're so incredibly hardcore, and they don't even have a presence on Facebook or Twitter! Lots and lots of teenagers/early 20s desperately long to get on either of their front pages...much like any other hardcore gaming community. It's like playing Pokémon competitively.

CoasterForce's Facebook page gets a lot of traffic, and they have a huge following on YouTube thanks to EastCoasterGeneral's videos.

ThrillNetwork doesn't have a whole lot of likes/followers, but whoever runs their pages also keeps the information coming.
