New Camera For Cedar Point

Have any of you guys had experience with the Sony Handycam DCR-SX45. I was just wondering how well it works with off-ride and some on-ride POV's. Please comment back with your answer.

Off ride I am sure its fine. As for On ride, if I am not mistaken the State of Ohio, as well as most parks in general, have very strict rules about taking cameras on rides. So unless you're talking about on ride footage with written consent, you aren't going to get far with your filming.

I have a handycam & it wowrks rather well for both filming & photography at the parks,however like PCWNut said I would advise against making on ride POV's as it's against park safety regulations.

 

When filming near rides or in queues just be cautious of guests who may not be so hot on the idea of being filmed,last year I had some jerk get all uptight about filming his kid while in line for Grizzly at KD when I was just getting pre-ride footage & not focusing in on his kid in particular.

Filming on-ride POVs at Cedar Fair parks is not allowed unless you have made specific arrangements with the park ahead of time.

Yeah, I know thanks Robb. I wasn't really planning for it to by=e on-ride but mostly off-ride for the purpose of not getting kicked out of Cedar Fair Parks. Oh and Robb sorry about me spamming the TPR chat. I was just messing around. Won't happen again. Thanks again for the input.

I think off ride videos are the best. But I've had bad luck. I was at KD in October and some guy got in my way while I was making an offride video of I305. And he got pissed at me. Same thing happened to me on line for TTD. But offride videos are the best way to go.
