A.J. Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Okay, so that Leviathan-inspired NL coaster is the first time we've had an actual file attachment in a while. I attempted to download it, and there's a bit of a problem. On Mac OS X 10.7 (not sure about Windows, I haven't tried it yet), simply left-clicking a download link opens up a pop-up with nothing but text. Right-clicking the link and selecting "Save as", the browse window appears and the file appears to have a .txt extension. Removing the .txt extension actually downloads the file in its native format (in this case .nltrack), but a dialog box appears confirming the file has a .txt extension. I posted this here as opposed to Ask Alvey because we share more files other than images than the other forums. Any idea as to what's going on?
djbrcace1234 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 It worked find for me on Vista. I'm not very computer savvy, so I have no idea what could be the issue.
QueerRudie Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Very odd, I think- I did leftcllick here, and it worked vine (Win 7) as a NL file- I wonder if it's Apple being Apple again?
A.J. Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 It could possibly be Safari. If I remember correctly, I was able to download attachments as normal...maybe...a year or so ago? I couldn't be bothered downloading Chrome or Firefox so I don't know.
QueerRudie Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Yeah- Safari's been giving me issues for a while now, so I've now got Chrome as well to balance out the universe... Safari is faster for some things, but sucks with others- especially processing files and FB stuff.
