Lt.No0b Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 First off, just call me noob. Second, I'm getting ready to start college in the fall. I am currently planning on going for a major in mechanical engineering. Now, one thing I'm not sure about is what minors i should take to help me look good to employers. Ive been interested in designing amusement park rides for a long time now and decided a few years ago that it is what i want to do with my life. Also do you know of any good internships that would help in this field. Much thanks -Noob
robbalvey Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) If you are strictly interested in the mechanics of rides, I'd take everything you can in structural engineering, mechanics, math, and science. If you are interested in both the mechanics and the "show", I'd actually take whatever you can in theatrics, set design, lighting, video production, etc. Just look at our Tokyo Disney updates and you'll see how equally important "show" is as well as the ride system. 805Andrew Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 If I was just coming out of high school I think this is what I would want to do with my life. Oh well, I chose Marketing and International Business Management, there's no turning back.
