Tammy S Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Im going to Kennywood/Six Flags Great Adventure/Knoebels for the 1st time in the next week and I'm looking for any tips/advice/suggestions to get the most out of my time at the parks. And advice on strategies to get in the most rides/where to eat would be great, and is flashpass needed at SFGADV to get on all the coasters, we will be going on a non firday/saturday.
cfc Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 You should probably start with TPR's Park Index. The Park Guides there should answer many questions for you. Have fun!
alpengeistfan1 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Get a flash pass just in case, it is the summer.
grrt Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Get a flash pass just in case, it is the summer. Kennywood doesn't offer Flash Pass, but their equivalent is the VIP Coaster Tours, where you can pay for a time to ride a coaster. I suggest getting to Kennywood early and scoping out a spot at a coaster, because once noon rolls around, lines get very long, whereas early in the day you can often get walk ons multiple times in a row.
alpengeist04 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I would take the "wait and see" approach with the flash pass at Great Adventure. You might be OK next week, but in 2 weeks they'll be in summer mode with all the schools out in NJ and the surrounding areas. I believe I went last year on a Friday around the time you're going and had no problems with crowds. ...At most El Toro and Nitro were 20 minutes waits throughout the day. The best advice I can give anyone is to get there before opening. You can get as much done in the first couple of hours as you can the rest of the day. Also, ride Phantom's Revenge, Phoenix, and El Toro as much as possible.
