robbalvey Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Ok, I've given the Games Forum Moderators group the ability to ban a member. When you are on the TPR Forum Index page, go to the moderator control panel link at the bottom of the screen and click it. That will bring up the moderator control panel. There will be a tab for "banning." It's pretty straight forward. On the left hand side you can choose if you are going to ban a username, IP, or email. The main section is the ban area. Input the username/IP/or email (depending on what you're banning.) And MAKE SURE YOU PUT IN THE BAN REASON! VERY IMPORTANT!!! Reason for ban is what we the moderators see, and reason shown to the banned is what the user will see. You can add your own notes into the moderator section if needed. The user will never see that part. NOTE! Before you ban an IP address, I recommend you use the "find a member" link and search for that IP address. If the member is using an IP address, such as a mobile phone or AOL account that is not specific to them, you might end up banning lots of other users you don't mean to ban! So if you do a search on the IP address, and a bunch of other usernames come up that you know are not also that same user under a different screen name, do not ban the IP. Get it? Ok, let me know if you have any questions. --Robb
QueerRudie Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I just noticed that when I was looking at a user. Good to know- and I hope I don't have to use it often-
mcjaco Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Just banned cool5. Pretty sure he's coastb2 (who I banned years ago). The kids were getting worked up about his moronic Cigarette coaster.
robbalvey Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 ^ Yeah, I'd just quote the ToS about members not having multiple accounts. That guy was trouble before.
