JimmyBo
With beers in hand and pictures to upload...on we go! Day 8 - The Crazy Friday!!!! This day started off with a bang! All of the trip participants had to make it on the same flight to Melbourne and then we had some surprises while we were there. The weather decided to give us another F U when we were unloading our bags from the Bus to go into the terminal. Then our flight was delayed because some plane ran into a kangaroo on the tarmac. Why do they call it a tarmac? Is it a Tar named after a guy called Mac? Anyway, we made it to Melbourne and Robb and Elissa (who, have I mentioned, are freaking AWESOME!) surprised the group with a credit dirty whore stop to get a Wacky Worm credit. I didn't mind...they had food and drinks! Then it was off to the other Luna Park after a delicious lunch at a Grill place where they Grill stuff on the Grill. Onto the photos... Scary face man is happy food has arrived and he is ready to chomp down on our fat @$$es Watch out for creepy face man behind us! This was right across the street from Luna Park...it was built by the same people who built Luna Park We got a behind the scenes look at the Scenic Railway cable lift system. The cable lift system is faster than El Toro's and Millennium Force's cable lift system COMBINED! Scenic Railway...let's take a scenic look at the scenic railway Backstage, this is where the trains put on their clothes before they appear in public...the train we saw was nude! This is Mr. Brakeman. Unfortunately they would not let Robb be a brakeman. I'm pretty sure the brakeman's seat was the most comfortable seat on the entire train Now it's time to walk through the Ghost Train with the lights on Creepy face man will EAT YOU! This dude says, "This way to death by masturbation" Michael (on the right) was super excited to walk through the Ghost Train. This was probably his favorite moment of the trip and I caught it here on camera. Can't you tell how freakin excited he is?!?!?! The artwork inside was pretty neat. They said Tim Burton rode the Ghost Train and said it was "Very Ed Wood". Whatever the hell that means If you are afraid of clowns then it's too late...you've already seen this picture so you might as well go cry in a corner Troll. This troll will soon be starring in "The Hobbit"... arriving next winter to a theater near you. They had to put this cage around this animatronic because kids were seen doing "nasty" things to this poor dead person. They had to put a cage around these dolls because they saw "Seed of Chucky" and wanted to play with little kids Robb starring in the new SyFy movie..."Mega Spider vs Theme Park Guests". Oh the terror!!!! They put a cage around this guy because books were getting stolen. They are prop books people...why would you steal it? It's not like you can return it to a bookstore and get credit! I'm a nerd. I'm not even half-way done with this update and I'm already done with my first drink...time to refill.... .... ... ... I'm back. After the Ghost Train tour we had a little tour of their antique carousel. The thing really was beautiful to look at Each horse had their own paint scheme and the paints were kept under each horses name...these were Bonnie and Clyde This is a closeup of Clyde...what a beauty. I wish the part in Mary Poppins where they ride the horses can become reality. This is my throne. Now where's my goblet of beer? Cassie loved the artwork on all the horses. I'm pretty sure she is about to paint a wooden horse and sell it on eBay...I'll keep you all posted Ever wondered what the insides of a carousel looks like? Well, this isn't it. This is the simulator...sorry to disappoint. I think this means it's old and stuff... That, ladies and gentleladies, is the antique organ. Sadly it was not working but they blasted general carousel music outside of the carousel so everyone not on the ride can hear it but if you were riding the ride...you didn't hear much music. Time for ERT on the Ferris Wheel! No joke! They let us take our cameras on the Ferris Wheel when they usually don't let people take anything on with them. Are they crazy?!?!?! What a bunch of ugly people...ewwww...moving on... What a bunch of even uglier people! The sun was starting to set in Melbourne. Here is the other coaster themed after a bustling Metropolis. The Scenic Railway goes all the way around the entire park. Back to the city that never pleases...Metropolis taking its first riders of the night. First drop airtime!! The helix of doom, death and destruction One last view on top of the Ferris Bueller Wheel Oh hop-scotch...how I miss the days of being a young kid Hey Look!!! It's the Little Couple from TLC I didn't know Cassie could get any shorter. Cool mosaic we saw while spending too much money in the arcade!!!! *cough* Chuck and Brain are losers *cough* I don't know whether to be afraid or in awe... This is the Coney Island Hot Dog Drop...it was quite in interesting ride. It provided a lot of airtime! It was like a big kid frog-hopper It was very patriotic. The scenic Railway wasn't any better running at night. Cassie had a blast but that's because she's short. My knees where bleeding by the end of the night from hitting the damn wood in front of me. The park was very pretty at night! The lights brighten things up...like they should! The Ghost Train was asking for people to ride it... sadly, the walk-through was better than the actual ride. I felt the ride went too fast by all the animatronics The around the park were really awesome The real Ghost Train! The new SyFy movie in the making..."Queue Jumping Demons vs Stupid People" Creepy face man isn't that scary at night when you can't see him! The Palais Theatre next door was a happening place that night. Maybe it's because Steve-O was there...no joke! Steve-O was there! What better way to end a Friday then drink what's in our fridge and charge it to the room which is on Elissa's credit card!!! Muahahaha. Next up...the long lost credit of Australia

JimmyBo
^Stay classy San Diego. The drinks keep flowing and I keep uploading... Day 9 - The drive to the BEST CREDIT EVER! TPR has never traveled this far to get 1 credit EVER!!!!! Yes people of the great Theme Park Review...this was a TPR first! But before we could enjoy the amazing credit that was in store for us...we had to freaking drive there. Thank god we weren't driving ourselves there (that would have been an awesome site Amazing Race style). So, we stopped in a place called Lakes Entrance for lunch. Why is it called Lakes Entrance you ask? It's because that's where Lakes enter the ocean...duh! Then we arrived at the TPR takeover of the Comfort In in Merimbula. This place was awesome! They cooked a BBQ just for us TPRers and boy were members of the group super happy. The food was delicious and the town had a very cute, small-town, coastal village feel. Here are the pictures that are being uploaded...enjoy them NOW! First off, we decided to hang more Bells for Cassie's work in Melbourne. Plus, we had time in the morning so we wanted to check out the beach. It looks like it's nighttime in this picture but it's really not. This was a walkway near our hotel. This is where I would hide if I were to kidnap someone...seriously! No one would see it happening! No kidnapping happened and the Bell was hung. Now it's time to head to the beach. "I'm queen of the grassy hill overlooking the ocean" For those that have never seen a light house...here you go. Is your life complete now? Cassie hanging another Bell along the main beach walk/run/bike/skate/crab walk area near the ocean The Bell blowing in the breeze Here we are...with the Melbourne Beach behind us. We did not go in because it was quite windy and chilly that morning This was the most expensive hotel we had on the trip. We are now leaving the most expensive hotel and going to the cheapest hotel. I don't think anyone knew what we had coming to us...not even the amazing trip planners This is a Light Rail...it's called transportation Now it's time to see the countryside. We saw Kangaroos, dead wombats, emus and dingos all in the wild. What better way to celebrate a long @$$ bus ride then have SNACK TIME!!! Sadly, I'm pretty sure this was the last video that worked on this bus...we blew up the TV with our videos After everyone had their sugar rush...there was more country to see Here we are at Lakes Entrance...this is a Lake Entering the ocean...looks like water to me... There were boats that just came in from the ocean with fresh fish they just caught about an hour before More boats means more fish for everyone to eat. At the amazing McDonald's, Cassie tried one of their amazing desserts! This was some type of strawberry swirl thingy that I haven't seen in the states...it was quite delicious. What better way to experience Australia then check out their Target and Safeway! Here it is...the moment of truth...what will this be like? The TPR takeover of the Comfort Inn was pretty sweet. We filled up every room expect 1...and I still feel sorry for those poor people that were not part of our group. Here's the view out of our room...pretty awesome! Here's our Patio There was a nice grass area behind the rooms for some frolicking around in later. But first it was time to check out Merimbula Hey look...it's a harbour...or is it harbor...or is it harboar? It was pretty awesome that almost everywhere we went we were right next to the ocean. Hey! That's where we are headed tomorrow for the best credit EVER! It's just right down the street! We could walk there tonight!!! Now it's time for frolicking and gymnastics memories for Cassie I give it a 8.5 / 10. Your legs weren't together Time for BBQ! Here's where TPR was headed for their very own Dinner takeover!!! The man...the legend...the cook...don't mess with him...he is making an awesome Aussie BBQ I think people were happy that we had free WiFi again... Sadly, we didn't have Shrimp on the Barbie but Lamb on the Barbie was still quite nice and delicious. Cassie was still on WiFi catching up on things back home like the Snake that escaped the New York Zoo!!! OMFG!!!!!! Oh look who's first up for food...no surprise here. And up before they even said it was time to eat. It's like they have ACErs in their blood...booooooo. The motherload of the awesome Auusie Barbie. Up next...The best credit EVER!!!!!!! larrygator
JimmyBo - Remind me about the bells. I know it is for Cassie's non-profit but can't remember the details.
JimmyBo
^ Here's the website Larry... http://www.bensbells.org/ Check it out and look around the website. One of the stories on the "Stories" page was from one of the Bells found in Melbourne.

gisco
Go Jim, Go Jim, Go Jim. You can finish your report before Chuck! Just one more day to go! Funny thing when you mentioned the free Wifi. I just got my phone bill and I had a $102 roaming charge. Happened the next day, still trying to figure out what I did to rack up a charge like that. JimmyBo
Here we are...finally the last update of the amazing trip that was The TPR Australia Tour. Day 10 - The Best Credit EVER!!!! Not much else to say about this day. We finally got to ride the lone credit that we drove a million miles for and it was freaking amazing! The best coaster I've been on named Diamond Python. Magic Mountain (and yes, it was better than Magic Mountain in the US) was a nice little park set in the woods. We had the opportunity to ride the Alpine Slide a couple times and it was a pretty decent slide. After the park we got a little tour around Australia's capital. It wasn't really as fancy as DC but they certainly have some interesting architecture. Then we made it to our final stop of the trip, a nice little hotel by the airport. The final dinner was freaking amazing and Robb and Elissa really do a pretty incredible job at picking out places for TPRers to eat. All in all, this was an amazing experience and Australia truly was a beautiful country and the people there were extremely nice. Well done TPR...well done... Onto the final update... We say good-bye to our little Comfort Inn hotel and the amazing view it had. Time for gay pride Magic Mountain style I hope our eyes bug out of our heads like these people! Here it is ladies and gentlemen...the best credit EVER! Why is it the best credit ever? Let's take a look...it has a lift hill... ...it has a drop... ...it has another drop... ...then you go around this thing called a helix... ...you go around this helix with some amazing g-forces... ...and you come flying into the final brake run at amazing speeds... ...and that's the end of the best credit ever. Ok...so the coaster itself may not be the best thing in the world but if it weren't for this little credit we never would have got to experience driving through Australia's country, experiencing the strawberry swirl at McD's, having a TPR takeover at Comfort Inn, having an amazing Aussie BBQ, an amazing homemade breakfast, and got to see Australia's capital. That is my reasoning for the best credit EVER! Next up, time for us to go balls out on the Alpine Slide It was a nice slide. I've never been on a steel slide...only concrete so this was another cherry popped for me on this trip. It was complete with getting eaten by MegaShark...best slide EVER! Then we said good-bye to Magic Mountain and good-bye to the town of Merimbula. Australia's beautiful countryside. There it is...the White House of Australia and all its glory! It was pretty much amazing Then we got to drive around and see all the embassy's. This was Pandora's embassy. This was Middle Earth's embassy This was Hoth's embassy Here was America's embassy...it took up the whole damn block! Still more of America's embassy...we really do have big ego's And the other entrance to America's embassy...about 2 miles away from the first entrance. It really was big and obnoxious like most Americans Here was District 9's embassy Here's Hugh Heffner's house Here's the Historic Australian Hotel...suuuuuuper historic! Then it was time to say good-bye to the capital and make our way back toward Sydney Captain Cook wanted to give us one last wet farewell The sun slowly sets in Australia and this update is coming to a close Good-Bye Australia...thank you for an amazing time! And for the proud and the few that read and commented on this report...thank you for reading. Now go and eat a kangaroo with a Fosters in hand and enjoy a Magnum Bar for dessert. gisco
It is sad you took advantage of Chuck to finish your thread when he is in Texas. I have to agree with you, there were a lot of cool things on that trip besides the coasters. It was a really awesome trip.
