reanimated35 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Hi, I'm heading over from Brisbane, AU in may and I would like to know what the deal is with taking cameras onto rides in the USA parks? I will be visiting: Disneyland DCA SFMM Legoland San Diego Seaworld All the aussie parks won't let you take cameras on rides, but I've noticed quite a lot of on ride youtube videos on the parks in the states. Thanks
djrappa Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Disney doesn't have a loose articles policy (because they are awesome and 'get it') so you can take anything on every ride, on Calif Sreamin you just sit your bag on the floor even though it has a loop! You'll be fine to film but you'll get barked at over the PA if you have a flash, light, or infared camera on the dark rides. SFMM from memory has your usual storage cubbies and bins in the stations for the coasters and someone else will have to answer if you can take cameras on.
beatle11 Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 Just ask before hand. Disney is very good for it but some other parks have policies against loose articles on rides. Many of the videos on YouTube are done without park permission so just make sure before hand. Oh, and have fun!
SoCalCoasters Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 From experience: DCA and DL you should be fine, they don't mind if you take cameras on. SFMM: No SWSD: No, though I don't know about the kiddie rides... Legoland: only on select rides... These are: Sky Cruiser, Coaster Cruise, Storybrook, Safari Cruiser, and a few others, but they don't allow camera on the coasters usually.
Angry_Gumball Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 These kind of threads (and Final Destination 3) inspired me to make this several years back for a school project. I'm sure many of you saw this in the past when I shared this but it's been a while...so I figured I'd share it again for those who missed it or new members who never saw it yet) If you're wanting to shoot onride stuff, you're probably best checking with park management (someone higher up, not just the ride operators or area supervisors). I'm not too familiar with other park's policies other than Six Flags and Cedar Fair which is typically a 'no.'
