how to upload videos to the PC

Firewire to a 1394 I/O controller card and Ulead Vid Studio 9.0

 

Dont even attempt to use USB you`ll lose quality and frames

^ I do the same thing. Just replace Ulead with Vegas 4.

And replace the word "upload" with "import" and that will probably help you google search information on how to get your video from your MiniDV camera to your computer.

 

If you're not using a MiniDV camera with a firewire cable, it will be much more difficult.

If you're on a budget, you can always use something like Windows Movie Maker. It has the ability to import DV-AVI and also export in that format too.

As said above, make sure you have a DV camcorder and a 1394 connection.

 

If you have an old-fashioned analogue camcorder, you may want to get some kind of capture card. They would work with Movie Maker also.
