Ok Bocakey and PuceChan you two really shouldn't leave us. Just stay away from the Random and Ask Alvey areas. I haven't seen anything bad happen in the video games and the coasters areas...

 

You shouldn't dismiss an entire community just because you run into a few jerks. Heck if people did that there would be a lot more toothless hermits hanging out in the mountains. Just choose where you help and where you don't.

 

I guess I am pretty used to crazy fights on forums... I mean heck I frequent a few of the console boards on IGN and visit some on other sites. That being said I get really annoyed sometimes but I realise it is only one person I am annoyed with. Ultimately it really isn't worth worrying about that one person when it will get in the way of my enjoyment.

Hi everyone, just popped back to delete my sig and avatar and am shocked by the response to the news that we are leaving! It wasn't just the Google Earth thing yesterday, lots of things has been really getting to me.

 

It's no secret that I didn't like the lengths a certain person appeared to go to to try and win the contests. *Take note: This was predicted by me before the contests began and will continue each week*

 

Anyway, thanks to most people for making the last 3 months and 12 days very enjoyable. I met some great people who I will stay in touch with.

What can I say?

 

Thanks for all the responses and kind words, it's nice knowing that both Bocakey and I contributed something worthwhile. However our minds are still made up.

 

This decision hasn't come based on one or two incidents, it's a long line of little niggles and annoyances that have built up over time. Some events that have happened recently (not just the "Google Earth" thread) have just been enough to break the camels back.

 

That is all I'm going to say about what and why.... mostly because it's simply not fair either to the people involved or TPR itself to place blame and name-call but I will say that I've always tried to be fair and non-judgmental towards fellow TPR members.

 

I haven't really got a single bad word to say about 99% of the people in the Coaster Video Game forum. Everyone here has been supportive of our efforts since Crispy announced the idea of challenges in TPR Chat and I've been astounded by the support and effort put into these challenges by people.

 

The challenges WILL continue and I will still contribute and do all the things I currently do for it. That's if Crispy still wants my help.

 

I will still be around for a couple of days to make sure that the current vote goes without a hitch, I still have a few pics to take and send to Crispy.

 

But Bocakey and I have just had enough. We've only been here a few months and have as many posts as some long-time members, hopefully most of those have been constructive ones.

 

As I said before I wanted to kick some life into the Coaster Video Game forum and I like to think that these challenges with Crispy did that.

 

I am really astounded with the response to Bocakey and I leaving.

TPR has been a mostly fun experience and overall has a good atmosphere. I wish everyone here all the best.

P.S. I know that when people usually make these kinds of posts they never actually leave, posting just to see how "important" they are. This is not the case here I promise as I am a man of my word and the problems/niggles that provoked me into leaving are not something you can simply fix.....

^ I'd really like to know what it is that pushed you guys over the edge. It's difficult for me to make the site better or an enjoyable place for everyone without knowing what the issues are.

 

This comes as a surprise to me especially since, other than a couple of theads recently, everyone seems to be very civil with each other.

 

Granted I don't monitor the video games board that much but maybe this is telling me that I need to more often?

 

Please, even if it's via PM, I'd like to know the details.

I hope I'm not the one who you interpreted as going to all sorts of lengths to win... I mean heck I can't help but be a little disappointed when the highest voting total I have gotten in two contests is 6%... I've been frustrated and I hope that wasn't misinterpreted. I mean with the Invert coaster I was at least close to start with but I got all but 1 of my votes in the first 2 days. It was just really hard to watch some of them just screaming ahead of mine. I guess the reason it was frustrating was the winner of the first contest was very realistic and the winner of the second contest was nigh unrideable.

 

Oh and pucechan... I don't think "being a man of your word" is necessarily the best thing here. It means you aren't even willing to give us another chance. I think thats kindof a poor thing. Sure there are people who just want attention who post like this but we will miss you guys. You have made an effort to make something good happen on a disused forum.

 

Honestly to both of you this really came out of the blue for me. I had no idea anyone was taking things this seriously. I agree that some people can be a drag on forums but you talk to them try to get it sorted. Tell them what annoyed you and try to move on. Heck my friends have all pissed me off at times. Does that mean I stopped talking to them? Hell no I have few enough friends as it is. Please don't let a few bad eggs ruin the whole thing. You guys have been a pretty big source of the life on this board.

 

Well anyway I guess I can't do anything but hope you will come back. I would IM you and stuff but Yahoo is the one service I refuse to use. I have never gotten spim on any other service but the times I have gotten onto Yahoo I have been hit with people advertising porn pages within seconds. Disappointing for sure and everytime I tried using it for nearly 6 months it kept happening.

^ Matt, omg you should know it's not you I was talking about! I really didn't want to post anymore but I didn't want you thinking I would say something like that about you! I even talked to Crispy on Yahoo about you because I was very concerned that you wasn't entering the themed contest because you didn't have much confidence in your theming skills. And if I thought you was a bad person, I wouldn't have posted, trying to encourage you to enter the contest would I?

Well thanks. It honestly just took me a long time to get some of the theming in my main entry to where I was fairly happy with it. It has been a lot of fun talking with you two on these boards and I really hope you just need a bit of time away. Hopefully you will come back and at least hang out with us on the video games boards here if not anywhere else.

 

In any case enjoy things and don't get too serious about anything. Heck I worry way too much for anyone but I'm working on it... Just try to enjoy things for what they are.

 

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed that we see you again somehow.
