dadofgage Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Ok, so my wife and I are coming to Anaheim for the Macromedia MAX conference in October. What would be some things that you would suggest that we do? Theme parks - we would probably visit Knott's as opposed to SFMM or Disney. Touristy things are okay as well as anything that might be out of the ordinary.
kat11joe Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 It really depends on what kinds of things that interest you and whether you are staying strictly in the anaheim/orange county area or possibly going into the LA area, San Diego area, etc. There are tons of things to see and do lol. Could you name some locations you might be interested in and what kinds of things that interest you? Hope you have a great trip!
maliboomer Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I highly discourage Knotts over Disney unless you have visited before, because you will have a lot more fun at the later, and theres the same amount of credits. Anaheim is pretty culturally challenged...
COOOOLkid Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 I HIGHLY suggest you going to Disneyland. If it's in October, the crowds (even on weekends) aren't that bad and I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun! EDIT: here's the average attendance at DL: http://www.scottware.com.au/theme/feature/crowds.htm
djrappa Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 If it's anything like end of october last year the crowds at Disney will be NON EXISTANT! I have photos of 2mins wait times for Indy and 0 MINS for PIRATES!
dadofgage Posted August 23, 2005 Author Posted August 23, 2005 Well, we figured we would go see Jay Leno and the Tonight Show one day, but other than that, we are open to suggestions.
USRoadTripper Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Go to a Price is Right taping if they have one! I did this in 2001 for the 30th anniversary episode taping, and it was an amazing experience. Truly one of the coolest things I've done in life thus far (sad I know!!!). It takes the majority of a day since you need to get there at the crack of dawn to get in, but man, there just hasn't been anything that compares to seeing Bob Barker come walking out from behind those doors! And if you're lucky, you can win stuff too! I sound like such a dork, but it was such an awesome experience!!! -Julie Me being all "OMG I'm going to a Price is Right taping!!!"
dadofgage Posted August 28, 2005 Author Posted August 28, 2005 Thanks for the idea about The Price is Right. We had checked into it on our dates, but they are not taping on those dates that we will be in town. We are looking at trying to get tickets to Gwen Stefani and the Black Eyed Peas at the Hollywood Bowl.
