CoasterPrince Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Wildwood, NJ for 3 days... :jumping0001: Arrival Ha. We are lost in A.C. I prefer Wildwood anyway. Question, why would someone stay so far away from the actual shore?! Here we are! The amazing Wildwoods. This...is the cool Wawa. All other Wawa's cry theirselves to sleep. They sure do know how to theme a city. Normal people stay in the crappy small rooms. I get the apartment at the end. Literally across the street from the Boardwalk. Pool. It comes with a balcony. double Splashzone or something down the street. Pool....from the balcony!! View looking towards Spencer Ave Looking straight ahead ..and Schellnge...the second pier! Wildwood...from the balcony!! I see you. First Night Great View from my bedroom. I always wanted to be the crazy guy at spring break that falls off the balcony. Crazy? I know. Shore store. Hmm this is new! Best ride of my life. Also new! Morey's sure does know how to light some rides. "Way better than SNL"...right. You filthy whore. Great White...is LIFE. Best water ice ever. Back at the hotel...FOR NOW. LATER that night It's now 2 am. The nightlife here is...blah On the Boardwalk at 3am. Illegal? I don't think I care. I can't fit on El Toro anymore. Waddaya Know. Right across the street. Yay for Wildwood and conveniencey (word?) Coasters in the morning...HEARTS Atlantic Ocean Ultimate Flight 7am riding bikes...Fun to who? Crazy people. GCI!!!! This view will soon change! Mornin' Vekoma Gadv 2011. All I'm saying. Life has meaning You'd think with a Morey's title this would be the first thing I'd show you...well here. Yay you. Later I promise. Rides RIDES RIDES A disgrace to humanity. Honestly Cool new trains...cars..whatever Never again Worst pier...but still better than some parks. HIJO. TORO...HAS....COMPETITION. The way they layer their rides is amazing. Going to hell...smile! Life has meaning To the second pier! Detail, Detail, Detail Screensaver... Windseeker...FTW Photo Ops. What an attention whore. Most piers have dinky Pinfari coasters...not here! Great theme! Station lights. Gadv 2011. Illegal. Back seat...ftw Night time hits..and Wildwood LIGHTS UP! Here it comes... BLAM. Everything has lights...EVERYTHING This pier alone could be Morey's Piers and I would come every year! SBNO? Vegas? No, Moreys. AtmosFEAR...COMPLETE OWNAGE Rock and Roll draws the biggest crowd with the music and lights and sirens! Great theme >Saw Mill Log Flume Reason I am alive. Can we have ours back Great America? Snooki. Still can't fit on Toro but it was worth it Haha. (I can fit on Toro, for the record) Jumbo's pizza. Too bad it was gross GREAT WHITE Imma coming. It's getting late Cool station lights! Tracers! Into the Devil's lair. Blew me away. So fast and intense and smooth. El Toro is a 10 and Great White is a 9. Best ride of the trip...and I rode AtmosFEAR Leaving Day The rain wanted me to have fun. Thanks rain. Later Wildwood. Can't wait for the GCI.
Across_the_Universe Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 (edited) I was in Wildwood earlier this year for Indoor Percussion championships. It was Late April/Early May, and the only Pier that was open was the one with the Boomerang. We didn't get too much time to ride, but every night we had until 11 to be out and we hung out there until it closed at 10 and headed back. When we were in line for Sea Serpent, my friend (who is a girl) was being asked personal questions by a drunk and/or high guy. It was really creepy.... But we had a lot of fun! The only picture I got involving the rides. If I'd have gotten more I would've done a PTR. Edited August 28, 2010 by Across_the_Universe
CoasterPrince Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 Wow. Riding Giant Wheel in the fog must've been fun. I rode Kingda Ka a few times while the top was covered in fog and it was amazing. The view from the top was breath taking!
eltorobaby Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 I honestly dont know how you can even consider The Great White in El Toro's League. To each his own I guess but I get headaches when I ride The Great White lol and get very little air time whereas on El Toro i get tonz of air time and it's a pretty smooth ride.
Across_the_Universe Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 (edited) Wow. Riding Giant Wheel in the fog must've been fun. I rode Kingda Ka a few times while the top was covered in fog and it was amazing. The view from the top was breath taking! I never actually rode it. That was the last picture I took in WIldwood. It was on the last day, and my mother and I (who was a chaperone) were wandering around the boardwalk early morning and I noticed how pretty it was and took a picture. I don't think anything was even open at the time that picture was taken. That day the percussion didn't actually do any shows, it was Sunday and that was finals day for the high school Colorguard. They got 3rd place in their class (Scholastic A Guard) The percussion got 6th (in Scholastic Novice Percussion), and the middle school color guard got 4th (in Scholastic Middle School Guard). Our shows are on YouTube, not the Wildwood ones though. I'd post the links to them, but I don't want to hijack this thread. The ending of our 2010 show. (Yes, it is "Canon." As in Pachelbel) The props moved around and each letter moved around by itself as there was a different "Variation of CANON." I'm the leftmost person in the front ensemble (pit). Believe me, I questioned that statement too but honestly Great White was running insane last weekend.
Carnage Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Believe me, I questioned that statement too but honestly Great White was running insane last weekend. It must have slowed down a tad then by the time I got there on Tuesday. I thought it was just kind of average. Though it does have an interesting setting. To each his own I guess.
