Rathalos888 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 (edited) Hello TPR! I'm new here, and this is the first park I've posted here, so please, try not to be TOO harsh . A couple of things I'd like to get out of the way: There is no custom scenery in the park, but there are a few custom rides (that I acquired by accident >_>). I rarely support my rides, because I don't really know how, and I don't have any support packs or anything. The only thing I use 8cars for is mowing lawn and watering gardens and renewing rides :/, because I really don't know how else to use it. Also, some of my buildings and foilage and stations probably won't look too good, I'm sorry, I'm new to this . Most of my parks in the past I've made solely to create rides. I've never really tried to make a park look nice and semi- realistic until now. The last thing I'd like to address, is I am in no way a coaster enthusiast. I don't know how to spell scwarzkopf (unless that's it >_>), I don't know the difference between a B&M and an Arrow, etc. So please don't get mad at me for my lack of coaster knowledge . That's enough of my little...rant? I dunno. Without further adieu, here is Paradise City: Here's an overview of the park Here's the (rather lackluster) entrance to the park. Here's the main entrance plaza. You can see "Midnight Riders" (the double deck), the Food Court, and the Scrambler, "Do The Twist" Here's the junior coaster, Mockingbird. It's a fun, yet tame, ride. Here's a look at the park's only woodie, "Twisted Sister". Going back to the left side of the park, here's a look at the only inverted coaster in the park, "(in)Vertigo". Here's a look at the drop tower, "Fly Like An Eagle", along with the small Harley Davidson restaurant. Here's a look at the rest of the midway, including rides like "Magic Carpet Ride", a small maze, "Breaking Wheel", and "Big Time Truckin'". You can also see the small, twisted layout of "Round and Round", a small spiral coaster. Here is the entrance to "Nightrain", the biggest and baddest coaster in the park. It features quite the vertical drop. Here's the swinging inverter, "Sultan of Swing". You can also see a small Tilt-a-Whirl Personally, I love the layout. Especially the helix at the beginning. Farther down the road past "Sultan of Swing" is a second midway, featuring a small haunted house "Allison Hell", "Gibson Tower" a small gyrotower, and "Bark at the Moon", an impulse. Here is "Thunder River", a large (unthemed) Log Flume. Near "Thunder Valley" lies a small, yellow boomerang, "YYZ". Here's a look at a small shoot the chutes by the name of "Niagra Falls", along with the entrance to "Crazy Train". Here's a look at Crazy Train, a fast, twisted floorless. And that's it. PLEASE let me know what you think. If I underthemed or overthemed anything, if I need to add something or remove something, or repaint something, or need to add flats or remove a coaster or ANYTHING at all. Also, I forgot to screen a section of the park >_<. If you look at the first screen, it's in the area near Crazy Train. There's a few flats there and an animatronic band. Thanks! djbrcace1234 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 First off, Welcome to TPR! The park is nice for a first try of things, but here's what I suggest: Put the flats either on the ground, or put a fence under it as the in game bracing system looks unrealistic. Love the coasters, and that B&M Invert= For your arrow suspender, I would try and make that landmass you dug up a little better. Try to make a hill out of it, or something of that matter. The buildings, Keep at what you're doing as they are fine. I like how you're keeping diffrent dimensions to all the buildings, and that is a nice touch. Overall, this is a good start. Put more time into it, and you can perfect the skills.
Mastersax68 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Welcome to TPR! I like what you have going on here. I love the layout of Mockingbird, and the Invert. Keep up the good work. I think you could fill in some of those empty spaces with foliage, and it would look much better. Overall a very nice start, and I hope to see more of this!
Rathalos888 Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 Thanks guys . Yeah, to be honest when I dug up the ground for the tunnel, I forgot about making it look like it's actually a hill and not just a pile of land . Thanks for reminding me. I'll put the fences around the flats like you said, and I'll add some more foilage in the blank areas. EDIT: Also, when doing trees, is it better to have a large mass of the same tree, or a bunch of different trees in an area?
djbrcace1234 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Having the same types of trees makes for a textureless enviroment and a drab of color. It is best to be diverse with foliage.
braztaz Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Welcome to TPR! This is a GREAT first park. I love the music theme, and your coasters are very well planned out. Looking forward to more updates.
Rathalos888 Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 Thanks for the advice and the comments! Anyway, here's what I've worked on recently: Notice anything different? I also added some more foliage. I hope it looks better! "Sultan of Swing" got a face lift. (I tried with the tunnel . I'll probably work on it some more later) "Round and Round" was replaced this season, as it was inefficient and guests didn't like it much. It was replaced with a small Dive Machine, "Fear Factory" (who says it can't be named after videogame music )What do you think? Here's the main attraction this year, a stand-up dubbed "Thunder Struck". Again, what do ya think? Also, here's the area I forgot about in my first post . Like I said, it has some flats, like a Ball pit and some Bumper Cars.
ajc47 Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Great name for your park and your woodie coaster Rathalos.
