dubaidave Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I am going to hit a few seaside parks on the south coast of England soon and found that there used to be a futuristic dinasour dark ride just outside Clarence pear in Southsea. The sign is still there but , as far as I know, the ride is long gone. there is a small amount of info on the web but I just wondered if anyone knew any more about it? thanks Dubaidave
fatdaddy Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Futuristic dinosaurs, sounds like one of those Skittles contradiction commercials.
dubaidave Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 Here's the pics from Google Earth. I don't really think it will be open, but i`m still intrigued. Dubaidave
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 The upper floor [of the building] was originally used as a public house but in 1994 it was converted into 'Jurassic 3001', a futuristic dinosaur themed dark ride. It closed in 2004, yet all ride signage and theming on the building still remains. The ride was well-known for its animatronic stegosaurus whose head protruded from the side of the building and roared occasionally at passers-by, however this has since been removed. There you go. It closed in 2004.
