Erik Johnson Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 It looks like Disney just launched a brand new website, http://disneyland.disney.go.com/ (or you can simply type in Disneyland.com). It does features quite a few new attraction videos as well as 360 degree views throughout the park.
ahecht Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Finally, Disneyland has a website that doesn't automatically start playing music when you load it! This is the best redo of the site in years! Was Wes involved with this one?
RCFreak Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Best thing I found so far? The new calendar that works properly in Opera AND has selectable blackout days for annual passes built in! Thank you to the powers that be.
Mechanic Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I found the attractions navigation a little clunky at first, but I do, for the most part, like the new ride videos and slide shows. I could do without the feigned static in several of the Tomorrowland attraction videos though. Very few video transmissions contain static in this current day and age, yet we're expected to believe that technology in this area, particularly in Disney parks, is going to regress as we move into the future? I'm all for setting a period appropriate tone with the pictures and videos, but sometimes less is more. Just saying... Overall, I found the look and feel of the site much more modern than what it replaced. It still hits you with advertisements for vacation packages, shopping, and dining options every so many clicks, whether you were expecting them or not, but I've got to cut them a break on that. I fully understand the purpose of the site is to generate sales and I wish them great success with it.
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Interestingly enough, the new name for DCA is not present on the site. Just the name it's been for the past 10 years.
