PAL Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Our family has long been fascinated with the wonderful weirdness that *appears* to be part of Japanese culture. It looks a bit daunting for a first time visitor, but you'd never find us in a typical tour group. Now that we know there's Elissa friendly food - our particular JAL wouldn't starve. I'd be cool with only visiting parks but that wouldn't work for the spouse. If we visited with TPR would she feel like she'd sampled Japan? Personally I can't think of a better way to visit.
SharkTums Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 We offer culture on our Asian trips as well as coasters. First off we sometimes organize group outings to famous locations. Secondly due to operating schedules of parks we often have LOTS of free time where people have gone to a Japanese Baseball game, gone to temples or shrines, etc. Lastly, I can't think of a better way to really experience true Japanese culture than the true immersion we get when traveling on public transportation, going where the locals go, and trying out fabulous food (with the backup option of McDonalds always nearby!)
PAL Posted May 31, 2010 Author Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks, that's what I was hoping you'd say. It sounds amazing; I think we have a reasonable chance to join you the next time TPR offers a Japan trip (barring the usual health and job uncertainties of course). I know this year's trip schedule is just getting underway, so its way too early to ask when TPR might return to Asia. Do you recall the per person cost for your most recent Japan trip?
SharkTums Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) ^We'll be doing an awesome Japan Tour Summer 2011, details should be announced towards the end of this summer. Edited May 31, 2010 by SharkTums
la2lvtom Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 ^wow, I really hope I can attend that trip, my trip in September will be fun but only Disney (and LaQua) and I would like to hit up some of the "other" parks in Japan.
