I could go on all day about the things most people would probably think about doing when they visit Seattle. But here's one thing they might not think about doing; something that only occurs during the summer, something that's very..... tasty: the Bite of Seattle. For a long time, it's remained one of the largest 'showcasing' events in the state. Reminiscent to the classic street fair, the Bite Seattle offers guests a chance to sample food, trinkets, business offers, and other things while walking peacefully down the street. Since Seattle is a pretty darn big city, however, it would be incredibly inconvenient to hold a 'street fair' in the streets, especially one of this magnitude. Instead, it is held in Seattle Center, Seattle's equivalent to Central Park or Lincoln Park.

Among the well-know attractions to visit in Seattle Center are the Space Needle, the Seattle Science Center, and the Fountain. One lesser known attraction (that is probably only known on this website) is Fun Forest, a small amusement park located in the Center. It contains a few small flat rides, a roller coaster called Windstorm (just like Hurricane at the Santa Cruz boardwalk), and a log flume, among other small rides.

Seattle decided last year to get rid of Fun Forest because it wanted to add a different kind of attraction to the area. However, it didn't leave (in fact, it's still there right now, though not really open) before I got a chance to check it out one last time during the 2009 Bite of Seattle last July.

Wow, way to many pictures. Thanks for the report but you would have a much better trip report if you cut about 2/3 of them out. Most people are going to skim over this because it takes to much time to load, to much time to read all the captions and your not able to hold their interest. Next time pick your best 20 shots and go with that.

I enjoyed the look at the festival! I kind of wish I had been in Seattle a little later, since that took place about a week or so after I was there last summer.

Thanks for sharing it!

^^I just got rid of a few, I hope it looks better.

^The Bite is definitely an event that's worth visiting. Next time you're in around the time of the event, you should stop by and check it out, even though Fun Forest won't be there anymore.
