Summer is the perfect time for all of us to reconnect with family and friends – and to make memories that will last a lifetime. And now, the three SeaWorld parks are rolling out an offer that comes at the perfect time for vacations and allows you and your family the chance to make a real difference for wildlife conservation. Kid tickets are only $5 now through December 31, with each full-paid, SeaWorld Orlando, San Diego or San Antonio single-day, adult admission purchased online. And 100% of the proceeds fund non-profit organizations that are working right now on wildlife conservation projects. Families even can choose which wildlife conservation effort receives their donation. “This makes it easy for families and friends to reconnect during a vacation, a getaway or even just a day trip to one of our parks,” said Jim Atchison, President and Chief Executive Officer for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. “At SeaWorld, families experience amazing up-close animal connections that can’t be found any place else. And we believe a greater respect for the world we share follows a visit to one of our parks.” Complete details are available at SeaWorldCares.com. Let’s take a quick look at the areas in need of your help: Dolphins are important predators of fish, crustaceans, and other marine fauna. They are negatively affected by habitat loss, commercial fishing issues and pollution. Your support can help improve the lives of dolphins by addressing these challenges. Sea turtles are vulnerable to natural and human impacts. Hurricanes can impact sea turtle nesting success. Coastal development and disturbances, such as noise and activity on beaches, leave little room for sea turtle nesting areas. All sea turtles are listed as threatened or endangered. Researchers in the wild need your help to rescue, rehabilitate and return injured sea turtles. Populations of manatees have declined over the past 100 years, especially in Florida, due to habitat destruction, boating, pollution and low reproduction rates. An aerial census is done at least once a year for the Florida manatee. The Florida manatee is one the most endangered marine mammals in the United States and is in dire need of your help. Coral reef fish live in one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. Their coral home provides food and income to billions of people. These beautiful animals are threatened at an alarming level, due to pressures from climate change, habitat destruction, coastal development, over-fishing and water pollution. Your donations will protect these reefs and the fish that make them their home. And with so much new to do at all of the SeaWorld parks, whether it’s riding Manta in Orlando, watching Azul at SeaWorld San Antonio or being one of the first to experience the all new Blue Horizons at SeaWorld San Diego, there’s never been a better time to visit. “We know the economy’s been tough for everyone, but more than ever before, everyone needs to spend time together,” Atchison said. “We think families also will have fun deciding which wildlife conservation project gets their donation, too. It’s a wonderful way for kids to learn about the work that goes on to save animals in the wild.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzY0-g9Y0Ps
