Marko Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 This stop wasn't planned but when the gas gauge started pushing towards E and we were in the vicinity of the Dells we just had to stop. From now on I am going to hit this little park any time I'm passing through. They have just an amazing coaster and truly need our support, the place was absolutely deserted. Not a good thing on a weekend in July. Only having time for a single spin on Avalanche we purchased tickets for $6 each, clearly they're pushing the wristbands which at $19 is a real bargain (drops to $12 after 5:00 if I'm not mistaken). We were the only passengers and took the front row of the short train. I asked the attendant if it was just a slow day and he said it was quite often like this which is really shame because Avalanche is just an amazing air-time filled insane ride. It's just so, so, so good, this place should be mobbed with people. They even gave us a second ride because we cheered it on so much, what a great park! Avalanche was a great end to a 2,500 mile trip and easily up there with the best of the best. Can't wait to get back there in a couple of weeks for some marathon night rides. Thanks for reading! Mark
benzo41190 Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 Avalanche is good! the wristband drops to $14.00 dollars at night. Usually it isnt crouded unless on Saturday.
Scaparri Posted August 11, 2005 Posted August 11, 2005 I agree, this place is awesome. I went this summer and I ate it up. It's such a fun little place. I didn't really expect it to be that busy. After all, it is a miniature golf course. I'm sure the rides are there just to put it above the other courses around. The wrist band is a steal, especially after 5. Unlimited rides on the log ride, Avalanche, and games of mini golf. It's a fun little stop, and as you said, the coaster is a walk on. Now about Avalanche! This is easily one of my favorite woodies and one of my all time favorite coasters period. I'm just mesmerized by watching it. It's not a big ride, but you would swear that it never loses momentum. And due to the tight space its in, there wasn't much room to elevate it, so everything is taken at lightning quick speed. The turns are insane, and the airtime is pretty awesome. This is a coaster that seriously needs more attention. It definately gives Hades a run for its money for the best coaster in WI. If you're ever in Wisconsin, hit the Dells up.
