Steelinwood Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 (edited) Yesterday, I had the opportunity to go to my first Ace coaster event. My mother had bought me a subscription for Christmas, and I was eager to check everything out. So me and my dad embarked on a 2 hour and 30 minute drive to the park. We arrived at the park in the service entrance, I'd never been to the park, and I was surprised at how small it was. they actually let us drive through the park to the staff training rooms too! After we had all Devoured food, (the fruit plate was left strangely intact. The pineapple was sad ) we talked and talked about what was going on in the New England region. The parks general manger also led us on a tour of the park! Wipe out was taken apart for repairs As we walked, wild cat really seemed to superimpose itself on my camera Another shot of wildcat! The enterprise was also taken apart. You can see boulder dash through their screaming swing too! Zoomerang! They then took us into some of the shops to look at coaster parts! The acers seemed to like this strange red coaster.... BUT THEY REALLY LIKED THAT! I LOVE VEKOMA Old control panel... New Control Panel! This is the warehouse we were in. The Garfield theme is leaving... I don't think my dad likes all this ace business... This is pretty cool! But this is even better! I don't care how people remember me, this will be my senior picture! The whether made it hard to snap great pics of Boulder Dash, but I think these next ones are pretty good! But these were little Gobs of awesome! Deep fried Oreo goodness! Six Flags general manager showed up, but the dude sitting in front of me Freaked my picture up! After that, Me and my dad left for the long ride back to New Hampshire! It was pretty cool I guess, but some of the people were kind of annoying. Today, my dad has the flu, so I would like to thank him for being a trooper. One thing that made me laugh was that he said the acers were getting sexually excited over the coaster wheels though... Until next time... -Your friend Eric ADMIN EDIT: I have updated the title to include "Photo TR:" at the front. Please remember to use that in your title when posting future reports. Other than that, thanks for sharing this with us! Edited March 15, 2010 by jedimaster1227
Capitalize Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Cool pictures. I really dig the color on what I assume is zoomerang's train (glossy dark blue/purple)... Lake Compounce has been on my to-do list for a looong time... Hopefully soon I'll get around to making a trip through NE to get on Boulder Dash.
rollin_n_coastin Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Heya, thanks for sharing! Great off season pics. I love this park. Small it may be but it's all quality. Definitely worth the drive if you can make it back during the season. J
Wumbology Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Nice pictures. Thanks for these! I hope I can get to Lake Compounce this summer. I haven't been since May 2008, and I much prefer Lake Compounce as my "home park" than Rye Playland... *shudder* I see you were out and about during that terrible storm on Saturday. We lost power on Saturday night and didn't get it back until... oh look, fifty minutes ago. Pretty bad damage down here, but I guess farther north it wasn't as bad.
sros1fan Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Nice Pics! I was also at the event and posted a full report with lots of pics here
Steelinwood Posted April 9, 2010 Author Posted April 9, 2010 ^They let you sit in the trains! I didn't know! ^^ The weather was also HORRIBLE! My dad actually developed Nuemonia after the trip and was out of work. my hands were also freezing!
